Symmetric and Asymmetric Encryption - Mnemonic
Here is a short "crib" note on encryption. One thing to note is the last row, while not perfect, if you are asked about "S"ymmetric or "A"symmetric encryption. Symmetric RC4, AES, DES, 3DES, and QUAD. <-- Most end in "S" Asymmetric RSA, Diffie-Hellman, ECC, El Gamal, and DSA. <- Some end in "A", if you add the ones with longer names that contain "A" (Diffie-HellmAn, and El GAmAl) Then you will know the others that are Asymmetric I hope this makes sense.

Need Help Choosing CISSP Study Materials: Feeling Lost and Overwhelmed
Hello, I’m feeling a bit lost regarding the materials I need to prepare for the CISSP certification. I want to get certified within a reasonable timeframe, but I don’t know where to start. Many people recommend different books, videos, and other resources, and I’d like something clear and focused to guide me. I’m looking for up-to-date materials that will give me what I need to prepare effectively without being excessive. A practical Study Guide seems like a good fit, but I’d appreciate your recommendations on what to use. Also, since I’m based in Europe, resources from the U.S. tend to be much more expensive for me. Could you suggest options that are accessible for someone living in Europe? Thank you so much for your help! Best regards.

MAC, DAC, RBAC… oh my!
Access control models are fundamental, each offering distinct methods for managing user permissions and resource access.

Topic of the Day: Types of Read-Only Memory (ROM)
Masked ROM (MROM) · It contains a pre-programmed set of data and instructions burnt onto the chip during the manufacturing process. · The information once written cannot be changed. Programmable ROM (PROM) · It is manufactured as a blank chip which can be programmed using a special device called a PROM programmer or PROM burner. · Once programmed, its contents cannot be modified or erased. Erasable Programmable ROM (EPROM) · It can be programmed multiple times unlike PROM. · The chip contents can be erased and re-written by exposing it to strong ultraviolet (UV) light. Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM (EEPROM) · It can be programmed multiple times like EPROM. · Unlike EPROM, the data can be erased and re-written electronically with no need of UV light. · Selective data can be erased from the EEPROM without erasing the whole chip. Test your knowledge: What type of ROM is a Flash Memory drive – MROM, PROM, EPROM, EEPROM?
