Let's Introduce Ourselves (Reply In The Comment Section)
Hi everyone, I've outlined the scope of this community in a separate post titled "Introduction - This Community & Its Purpose!". I suggest you read it if you haven't yet. This post is about getting to know each other better. For this reason we're asking each new member to answer a few questions. The purpose of these questions is not only to introduce yourself to the community, but also to share your experiences and aspirations in music. By understanding where we're each coming from, we can more effectively learn from each other, offer meaningful advice, and create collaborations. Remember, this is a community of diverse music enthusiasts, and everyone’s story and skills are valuable. The answers you provide will help build a solid foundation of understanding and respect, and will also assist us in tailoring the resources and discussions to meet everyone's needs and interests. 1. Could you please introduce yourself and tell us where you're from? 2. How long have you been involved in songwriting or music production? 3. What inspired you to pursue songwriting/music production? 4. How have you been developing your ear training skills so far? 5. What is one artist that has greatly influenced your work? Why? 6. What genres of music do you typically work within? 7. What specific challenges are you currently facing in songwriting, music production, or ear training? 8. What's one accomplishment in your musical journey that you're particularly proud of? 9. What are you hoping to gain from this community? 10. Do you play any musical instruments? If so, which ones? 11. Do you have any experience with the UseYourEar method? 12. Can you share a piece of advice or a tip that helped you in your musical journey? Let's get the conversation started by replying in the comments below! We can't wait to learn more about you and your musical journey.

Hello, I am Adriana from Colombia, I live in Germany. I am a guitar teacher and concert guitarist. I'm interested in music composition and production but I don't have much knowledge about it, I experiment with elements of music production at home but nothing professional. I have been developing my aural skills with elements and exercises that I was given at the university and for some months now I have been using the "use your ear" method and it has helped me a lot to understand what had never worked for me: the recognition of harmonic progressions and the transcription of melodies. I have been inspired by heavy metal and other branches of the same genre. I am very inspired by bands like Dream Theater and opeth and guitarists like Steve Vai and Andy Timmons and of course elements of classical music especially contemporary music. Specific challenges I don't think I have any more, in the field of music production I find it hard to understand the technical aspects and the different accessories that nowadays are multiple. I am proud to dedicate myself to do what I like to do with music, to share the knowledge I have acquired during my years of study and experience. Today I am more involved in pedagogy but in a few years I would like to dedicate my time more to composition and playing together with other instruments. I have no expectations in this community but there is always inspiration and new things to learn from communicating with people who have similar interests. Yes, I have experience with the "use your ear" method it is very logical and intuitive. The only advice I can share about the musical path is to have love and conviction.
