@Chad Silvis Don't worry about dating yourself. Lol! I was skating before Roller Boogie, which was not even on my radar. The first rollerskating movie that I remember is Roll Bounce.

@Arielle Williams i dont really have a specific recommendation; however, there is a slew of different types of skate bags on Amazon. Black Friday deals result in some bags costing under $15. Of course you can spend more for a really sturdy bag. I bought an inexpensive (cheap) bag for about $10 a few months ago. It has survived 2-3x a week carrying skates, my protective gear, extra wheels and tools without tearing or ripping. I'm pleasantly surprised. Decide what kind of skate bag (light with shoulder strap, mid-sized backpack, or sturdy wheeled luggage) you want and then shop.

I think I need a list of all the skating styles. You all are saying styles that I have never heard before :-( I've heard of JB, St Louis, Detroit. Some of the others are beyond me. .Maybe I've seen the style, but just didn't know its name.

I didn't practice per se, but I did skate across campus from my classroom to my car. (,about a half mile) It's a treacherous skate with all kinds of obstacles.
