@Anshul Verma right, when the government is involved, there's usually someone who benefits from it

@Anshul Verma In Canada in general I think it's at the early stages . There hasn't been much information spread to people about all the available grants and incentives. So there is some work to be done for sure, that's why we are doing this group 😎
Winter is here 🥶
It's that time of the year again, where depending oh where you live it starts getting cold 👎🏻 Most space heaters are 1500w , which would be more than enough to keep a small space warm, like fishing shack or a shed, maybe storage container 🤷🏻‍♂️ But what would it take to setup the solar to sustain running a heater like that and possibly have a bit of an extra energy for lights 🤔 Would anyone be intrested in kits that provide that flexibility? It might be in high demand. Just when people don't think about these options and don't want to do the research the opt for other options. We can use this thread for doing math 🧮 on calculations and leave links to ready to go kits and / or components for setups like this.

Here's a complete kit, which includes batteries. Would you go for a complete kit like that or try to save some $ and look for components to build one yourself? https://www.amazon.ca/ECO-WORTHY-Complete-Lithium-Controller-Inverter/dp/B0BYNF5F6T/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=3THLSFU7AVASI&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ZtZX-Y3OGpJxkJesN7DJYsOYIt7VVb5fIsKNCKYlYBmWtfDB1zZEeLofu3C3L_0xLp0QoTdVxRIuUH7h3KryrggpYTDbKLvE6suNpwfRJgbtOdE1Rp5Psx63fXC8iw4VzJCJOzrlPX031zTS6_09ugqzrTrDlhLt8N-XGZ2UNgF4eJsZCwsZ7cIYv1fnHEVLy-4Ckf9xhMu5PeUsg5DzxQ.7ufwIjjT5KZTerslzZWJ5lqskzTQGeiLfrc_K6ZVTAo&dib_tag=se&keywords=solar+kits+off+grid+with+battery+and+inverter&qid=1732713497&sprefix=solar+kit%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1

@Brady Moore whatcha think of this setup from professional point of view, would that be an overkill for one space heater ? How would you do the math?
1 year of Electricity for the whole World in one hour
Each hour 430 quintillion Joules of energy from the sun hits the Earth. That's 430 with 18 zeroes after it! In comparison, the total amount of energy that all humans use in a year is 410 quintillion Joules. What’s something that amazes you about Solar technology?

What amazes me is the future that the technology holds, imagine if we achieve close to 100% efficiency of Solar? 🤯 we better make some better batteries very soon 😁
The one thing Home Owners Ignore; How many KWh you actually need
When it comes to a solar setup at home, the most common thing people don’t know is exactly how much power you use. As well as, how many solar panels you actually need to meet that demand. Here is a typical idea of a solar panel you may need and typically you would need 50 of them to meet a basic load of a home at 5 KWh demand. https://amzn.to/3ViioXB

How do we figure out the need by looking at the power bill?

@Brady Moore how are we gonna measure daily and weekly ? They would have to get the reading of the meter?
