Winter is here 🥶
It's that time of the year again, where depending oh where you live it starts getting cold 👎🏻 Most space heaters are 1500w , which would be more than enough to keep a small space warm, like fishing shack or a shed, maybe storage container 🤷🏻‍♂️ But what would it take to setup the solar to sustain running a heater like that and possibly have a bit of an extra energy for lights 🤔 Would anyone be intrested in kits that provide that flexibility? It might be in high demand. Just when people don't think about these options and don't want to do the research the opt for other options. We can use this thread for doing math 🧮 on calculations and leave links to ready to go kits and / or components for setups like this.

@Alvis Ciritis this looks like a decent deal, since there is a $400 coupon rn. You would be able to sustain a 1500 watt heater for a while using these batteries and solar charging system. I don’t know about the solar charge controller it comes with though. I haven’t seen that one before. Typically you would be able to run a heater on the back up batteries for a few hours. If you were using it while the panels were charging the use would be lengthened significantly

1 year of Electricity for the whole World in one hour
Each hour 430 quintillion Joules of energy from the sun hits the Earth. That's 430 with 18 zeroes after it! In comparison, the total amount of energy that all humans use in a year is 410 quintillion Joules. What’s something that amazes you about Solar technology?

@Alvis Ciritis we better eh?!
The one thing Home Owners Ignore;How many KWh you actually need
When it comes to a solar setup at home, the most common thing people don’t know is exactly how much power you use. As well as, how many solar panels you actually need to meet that demand. Here is a typical idea of a solar panel you may need and typically you would need 50 of them to meet a basic load of a home at 5 KWh demand. https://amzn.to/3ViioXB

@Alvis Ciritis we can see how many KWh they use in a daily, weekly, and monthly period. Then with knowing how and what purpose they use their electrical demand for. It can determine the size of their solar array and power bank needed. With grid tie or not

Yes meter reading would be involved and meters can tell you the day to day use. It records it. Or using their electrical bill

As an Electrician, I design and consult on Solar Panels/EV chargers. They have racked my brain ever since the beginning. Ask me about Solar/EV’s
