Vocal Care for Actors
Vocal care for actors is great! I quit smoking cigarettes a few months ago and I've noticed that my throat has been scratchy ever since. I'm performing this Saturday and need my voice to be in good shape. It's okay, but I can tell my throat is still healing. I will be doing these exercises to help.

@Charlotte Storey Thanks Charlotte! Yes I'm realizing that this healing of my throat will take time. It's more sore now than when I was smoking, but to me that means now it's really healing. Thanks for the suggestions! 😊🙏🏾

Share Your Most Challenging Acting Experience
What was your most challenging acting experience and how did you overcome it? A significant challenge I faced early on in my West End career was firing a pair of Smith & Wesson pistols (authentic Wild West cowboy guns) to shoot six shot glasses from a bar. It took all my strength to pull them from the holster, then I spent hundreds of hours learning to twirl them, aim and fire. When I struck all 6, I got a standing ovation. That audience response was worth every hour of obsessive repetition. 🤠

Wow that sounds very challenging!! 😅 Hundreds of hours! I imagine getting that standing O felt so good after all that work! For me it was as an understudy for a stage production in NY of Antony and Cleopatra I was a lot younger and even though I had two coaches and I did end up going on stage once during the run as Cleopatra. It was rough, I didn't understand the complex emotional life of Cleopatra at the time. I wasn't ready to tell that story. I hadn't grown into it yet. But I tried. I gave it my all. I could feel myself on stage and I knew I wasn't nailing it but I didn't know why. I felt good that I was able to get through it, it was an accomplishment at that point in my life

@Charlotte Storey That's amazing a Classical acting course. It really is a different process.
