Option for Donations? The Value-for-Value Model
I really love the idea of "value for value", which is a donation based model of providing a service for free upfront and encouraging people that got something out of it to reciprocate. Whether thats on a subscription level or weekly to one-off donations, it can and does work. Please see The No-Agenda Podcast for reference. I think it would be an amazing feature to add a donation button to the Classroom and/or Community where people that have a focus on free communities could still receive value for the value they give. A venmo, paypal integration would be a fairly "easy" way to do this. This would allow people who really over deliver and give continuous value for free to be rewarded in the form of donations per post or per class without ever having to sell a thing. Because let's be honest, nobody likes being sold to and if someone chose to go this route, they would never have to hold back on the value they offer. Alex Hormozi says you should provide so much value that it scares you. Many creators cant do this because either, they don't have very much to offer, or they are too afraid they are selling themselves short. It also creates the opportunity for people that would otherwise not be able to afford what would otherwise be paid content, to donate something to the community creator out of the natural law of reciprocity. So to summarize my point, this would reward free community creators for the value and engagement they provide and I think it would be a great feature for Skool. Many might consider this from a mindset of lack but the possibility to bring income here has no ceiling. Instead of give, give, give, sell; the value for value model is: give, give, give, give.
