Welcome Ben!
Actor With a Written Script
Hi. I found this group on Facebook. I have a script and most of the characters have been casted. I am from Hawai’i and now living in DFW, Texas. I just need to find a production company who would want to fund a project with a bunch of “No named, nobody’s”. If Sylvester Stallone could do it with “Rocky” then why not me? 😏

Hi Eric, I would like to learn more about your project to have an idea what’s about. What’s the synopsis?

Welcome, Pallak! I’m a film director and producer, and I write my own scripts as well. Here’s my first piece of advice: get all your ideas down on paper without worrying about how they sound at first. You’ll probably have a lot of thoughts swirling around, and it’s tempting to dive into the details, but just let them flow naturally. Then, step away for a bit—take a walk, get some fresh air—and come back a few hours or even a day later. Don’t immediately re-read what you wrote; instead, keep building on your ideas. After about a week, revisit those initial notes. You’ll be surprised by what jumps out at you. When I write (since I often play characters I create), I picture my characters as if they’re right there with me. I ask myself: What are they doing? What do they want? How do they feel? What’s standing in their way? Do they have secrets or a hidden agenda? What’s their relationship with each other? Are they dressed a certain way for a reason? Do they even want to be in the same room together? Asking these kinds of questions helps clarify the scene and the story. Also, consider the big picture: what is your story’s core message? What are you trying to convey or explore? Why should someone be drawn to watch it? Finally, take your time. You don’t need to have a complete script right away. Start small and build. And for formatting, you can easily find examples of Hollywood scripts online, which can help guide you through the structure and rules. Good luck! And when you do, share some bits here so we can all admire! 🩵
