How to work vertically?
Everything I’ve done thus far, including my second project which happened to be a door left in my garage by the previous owner, I have sprayed with the surface laying flat. I’m interested, and so is my gf in me doing our basement walls in some of my art. So, how do you translate can control from a horizontal to a vertical position? How can I get good lines or even just consistent coverage without a ton of runs? Also, how should I do my stencils? Typically I let gravity or some spare bolts do the trick, but that won’t work on a wall. If I tape them, do I need to wait for the paint to completely cure beforehand instead of just letting it flash? The walls are cinder block, but have been previously painted with a glossy coating. It is still porous, so I’ll be doing more tool texturing and less smoothing by hand. Here’s the door I did.

Nice job using what you have on hand. How did the sheet rock do with paint soak? Looks like you were able to manipulate your paint pretty well.

Other first
I did this one when I did my other. Both after watching and learning from Tom

Love the red over white on this. Simple yet striking.

Are you saying your finger was causing spray deflection and drips? Are you wearing gloves? I usually rip the tips off of my index finger on both hands so I can avoid the spray hitting my gloves. If you’re not using gloves, try to train yourself to use just the tip of your finger and not the pad. If you’re not used to it, it will hurt a bit to start. I do it because I have a weird affinity to cutting my nails and sometimes they get a tad too long.
