Very scarce in the UK. Not sure our climate lends itself to the honey flowing out in the way intended. I wonder how extracting the honey doesn’t attract the interest of bees, particularly from other hives who might be interested in robbing it?

I get your point. I think many thought it was ingenious. Just a couple of observations. I’m not sure the bees like unnatural things in their hive. For example, the method I follow allows the bees to create their own comb and I’ve noticed that given the choice of working up a frame on foundation or one with a rib/starter strip or even nothing, they usually build on the latter first. What do you do with a vigorous hive that fills box after box during a peak flow? It’s not for me, but things are very different over here. Try and find someone nearby that runs flow hives & draw on their experience. If there aren’t any, that may tell you all you need to know. They’ve been out a while & should’ve caught on by now.
