Free, but for how long?
Hey Skool Community! This is my first time building a community of my own. I'm starting it as a free community and eventually moving it to paid. At what point, or at how many members, have you been the most successful moving from free to paid? Many thanks in advance!

If determining the point to go paid by numbers, wouldn’t those numbers be affected by the type of community?

I just totally redirected the focus of my community. My community is being built to help people who suffer from porn addiction. I struggled with it for 40 years. I heard it said to make your pain in your passion, so that’s what I’m doing. My plan is that when I have 25 active members, not just 25 members but 25 active members I’m going to go from a free community to $19.99 a month and then at 50 active members I’ll be going to $39.99 a month. Wondering if anybody has suggestions, or comments that would be helpful. I’ve never built a community before, but I am passionate about this. I see that there are a few other communities on here in this niche, but they’re all quite small.
How to launch this thing the right way?
I was workin’ on a different community for a while, but… my heart wasn’t in it. I couldn’t get hyped about it, no matter how hard I tried. Like, I wasdoin’ the work, but it just felt off? Then I heard, I think it was Alex Hormozi that said, “Make your pain, your passion.” And it was like a light switch, I knew what I had to do. I started Liberation Haven. A community to help people who struggle with porn, get control of their life back. It ain’t just about money or just build somethin’ for the sake of it. It’s about takin’ the shit I’ve been through and turnin’ it into somethin to helps people. I wanna help people that feels stuck, n trapped in habits they can’t shake. To get past that crap for real. I need some help! How do you get somethin’ like this off the ground? What works? What don’t? I’m here to learn and make this the best space it can be. I want to changes lives!

@Paul Schuller I’ve looked and I don’t see that many of these communities are very active in this niche

@Obk Zak I’ve started spreading the word through value post on social media. Just short little clips and some written post that I mention porn addiction in then I focus on what you gain by being free from it
Anyone here all in on skool?

I am all in, but unfortunately it is not the only thing I do at this point. I am still in the process of designing my community. I have started my about page, set up my categories on the Community board, and working on my first classes. I had another community I had started but my heart wasn't in it. I heard someone, I think Alex Hormozi, say Make your Pain your passion. So I am starting a community to help people with the thing that destroyed my life. Not trying to "self promote" and I hope this is permitted, would love some input, my community is Liberation Haven, your spot to break free from porn, level up, and find your real self again. Jump into the 30 Days to Freedom Challenge and vibe with a crew that’s got your back. Let’s do this!

@Thereasa Scott That sounds deep, but think about it—people have bad days. You’re just catching a two-second clip of their whole movie. Everybody messes up sometimes, but that don’t mean it’s who they really are. Give folks a lil grace before you decide what’s real.
