@Berlin RedluX I voted for music production! I can track live musicians but getting these synths and VSTs to sound like the real thing has been a challenge and a welcome one at that!!!

Headphone preamp
Who is using a headphone preamp ? Why do you use it? And which one do you use? Do you like it, or which one do you recommend?

I'm using the two headphone outputs on my interface for my headphones at my desk and then split my 8 outputs via a DB25 connection into 4 stereo pairs and run each one of those pairs into a Rolls 5 channel headphone amp. I have 4 mixes for musicians with the HP5 being linked to HP4 plus the two coming off my interface for a total of 6 which can all be routed to send any mix on the mixer. I have four mixes on the mixer plus USB audio can be sent anywhere too using my Antelope interface
YouTube question
We're considering making every YouTube video more specific to a certain genre or skill level. This would allow us to better help a specific person instead of keeping every video broad. If we went down this route, would you rather we put everything on this channel, or had different channels for different skills levels or genres?

@Rob Mayzes agreed here with @Randy Beasterfield . In this industry specifically, it usually comes down to fundamentals so quote unquote ā€œbeginnerā€ tricks are usually the ones we need to be falling back on anyway!!

Easier to build one channel than split up views onto multiple channels.

New free courses platform (plus new mastering course)
We just launched a new free course platform on our website ā€” along with a brand new 6-hour mastering course. https://courses.mastering.com/ You can also find ALL replays from past Fix-The-Mix events here under "Event Replays". Even paid VIP events. Everything is there. We don't hold anything back in our free material. A 6-hour mastering course will never be as in-depth as the mastering module inside The Reverse Engineer, which takes most people several months to complete... But we aren't holding any secrets back. We do our best to deliver as much value as possible in these free courses within the time available. So, I feel confident that you're going to walk away with a whole new level of understanding ā€” and notice an improvement in the quality of your work. We now have free courses on mastering, EQ, compression, reverb, along with all the FTM/VIP replays... and this is just the start. Go to this link to check it out: https://courses.mastering.com/ You can also get there any time by going to Mastering.com then clicking Free Courses in the menu. Enjoy! šŸ”„

My partner helps people build online courses, as well as takes many courses herself and she said ā€œthis is the best program Iā€™ve ever seen; itā€™s exactly what a program should beā€ Well done to the team at Mastering.com
