Community Update
Dear Sanctuary Members, We hope this message finds you well. After thoughtful consideration, we’ve decided to close our community platform in one week. We’ve heard from many of you that accessing the journaling prompts through a separate portal wasn’t the most convenient option. To better serve you, we’re excited to announce that our journaling prompt exercises will now be available directly on our website and delivered straight to your inbox. This change will make it easier for you to continue your journaling journey without any extra steps. Thank you for being part of our community. We look forward to continuing to support you in your personal growth through our new format. Warm regards, Team STM.

That's such a shame. 😪
Simple musing - are there more righthanded or lefthanded journalers?
I am lefthanded and have been really surprised at the amount of social media content in which I have noticed that the person creating the journal is also lefthanded, us being in the minority and all. Is it just a strange co-incidence that I have ended up watching/reading people who are left handed in this community? Just thought I'd ask if anyone else has noticed this or whether you care to share your own 'handedness'?

@Cynthia Moss I also use papermate inkjoy - these were actually once marketed as left handed pens and prove easy for me and my son to use without the smearing. Might be worth a try for your son??

@Dee Smith That's really interesting Dee. I bet your stuff is creative though!
What do you do with your finished/completed journals?
i was just wondering how people are storing completed journals/notebooks and how long everyone is intending to keep them for? I'm thinking more for ones that you use to keep your 'journal' pages in. So private thoughts and musings that you might never want others to see. How do you store them? How often do you go back and look at completed ones? How long do you intend to keep them for? Forever? I'm close to the end of my first journal and am getting nervous about what I do now!!!

@Cynthia Moss Oh that sucks if you've had your confidences broken several times with people reading your journal. That must have felt so bad. How do you trust someone after something like that? Would you mind sharing how you turn a cover into a travellers notebook? I'm interested in trying something like that. I'm really glad you've found a recording system that works for you now.
📣 Show me your pens! 📣
I’m not the most knowledgeable about pens, but thanks to my pen-nerd girlfriend I seem to have started a collection. 😆 So I’m interested, what are your favourite pens to journal with? Do you use different pens in different journals or for different purposes? I wanna know! Here’s my accidental collection of “can’t live without” pens. From left to right: 🧡 Orange Lamy Safari, blue ink, for general-purpose writing 🖤 Black Lamy Safari, black ink, for general writing in black 💚 Green Lamy Safari (I know, it’s a bit of a theme), blue ink, for writing in French 💙 Sailor Fude de Mannen, 40 degree nib, black waterproof ink, for ink sketching 🩷 Uniball One, black gel pen, for journal layouts and doodles

@Zoe Zayco Hi there. Hope you don't mind me asking but do you think the tombows are worth the price tag? I have been looking at them forever but the price puts me off and I bought cheaper brush pens but would splash out if they really do offer something 'more'

I've been journaling only a few years now but not in the way that most people do journaling.A planner-type journal doesn't work for me because I'm disabled and my pain level keeps me from keeping any "plan" I may have. What I have been doing is creating journals that document my thoughts, feelings, likes, dislikes, etc. I do A Line A Day, Doodle A Day, tv shows and movies I have watched, audiobooks I have listened to, birthdays, anniversaries, other important dates, fave quotes and music, and various other things. Does anyone else do a journal in this way? I thought my adult children may be interested in these journals after I am gone. Any thoughts or suggestions? Have a super day!

i always feel whatever way we choose to journal is the right way for us. There are many, many people doing exactly what you are doing (I'm one). This quarter I'm using a 'traditional' planner for more serious stuff and a dot-grid book for all my 'personal' stuff A fun one that I have just started is 'Songs that come into my head' page/collection - If I find myself suddenly thinking of/or singing humming a song out of the blue i write it down with a note of what I was doing at the time. It's fun to see if there are any patterns to pick out. Same sort of thing with randomly thinking of a person/event something that just 'pops' into my head for no apparent reason'. I also like keeping a note of things I want to look into when I have the time i.e. greek gods or whatever. I also keep a list for potential information resource,s so possible webpages, you tube creators etc and I go back at the end of the month and quickly see if I still think I want to keep them on the list and they go on the 'Mothership' list -which I will migrate to a new diary/journal when I start. This keeps me from loosing hours falling down a rabbit hole watching videos because I fear I wont remember the name and never find it again. To begin with I tried copying others that I was seeing online but found nothing was exactly me. Mine is just a messy colourful download of the thoughts, feelings, things that might interest me. I like it though and that's all that matters. Do what makes you smile! I beat yours looks amazing and one day your loved ones will have an emotional little journey flipping through the pages. Hope today is a better day pain wise for you.
