Solo Training Question:
What methods do people use to practice techniques that heavily require a partner to train effectively without a partner?

Brandon if working distancing or timing. Maybe practicing notebook drills. Doing techniques in different angles and locations can help. Also isolating movements can help. But when training I find it helps to continually ask why do I train? If the answer is always, "to fight " then being in a dojo or boxing gym full time becomes the only training option here. Otherwise just focus on what you can, when you can.
Course Updates!
As of tonight, both the "Leveling the Body" course and the "Wu Qin" course videos are online and accessible! Feel free to peruse the content as you're able. They are the first versions of the curriculum we're sharing on this community, so I appreciate any feedback that can be given as we work on improving them over time!

How Long to Black Belt?
This is always an interesting topic that I've had come up in conversations with other people practicing. How long did it take you to receive your first black belt? If you haven't received one yet, what seems to be the average time in the styles that you're involved with? It's always interesting to hear different people's stories and experiences.

Something to consider when discussing black belt tests. All people progress differently. This comes about as a result of life circumstances. Some people are busy due to responsibility and can't train all the time. So, this can slow down testing time. Maybe even extending it a year or so . In which case I would say it could be 10-12 years to test for black belt.
Conditioning exercises
Who here thinks conditioning exercises should be included in martial arts class curriculum? Not everyone has the space to train these. Or the equipment to do this kind of training solo. Also in order to ensure life long health training students need guidance on proper form to prevent injury.

@Caleb Turner I agree conditioning should be its own thing. And that technique as in karate or wu shu teachnique should be separated when training. However, I am a firm believer in a martial art teacher teaching and correcting his students form when it comes to the exercises I showed pictures of. Not everyone is an athlete. And people take time away from their training. Or may get hurt. This is when having a teacher teach you these skills is key. Youtube videos are fine. And some students of martial arts may cross train at a weight lifting gym or health club. But it has been my experience most people cannot afford to pay to train at multiple places. So, they try to get the most out of training where they can. If this means skipping martial arts they will in favor of other exercise. So, in order to prevent that from happening why not have exercise as a part of the classes. Even if you have to set aside the first 20 minutes to teach stretches. Then go over conditioning exercises like push ups, jumping jacks, sit ups. This would help increase performance. And it would prevent injuries. As we all know lots of people hurt their necks when starting to do sit ups or crunches. This inclusion in martial art classes of the proper conditioning exercises would prevent that big time!
