Client Death workflow in Wealthbox
Hi, We are refining our Client Death workflow. We have been modeling it after the Simp Ops template, so we see that we should remove the deceased client from the existing household and change the household to the surviving spouse. A few nuanced questions have arisen: 1. What happens to the household when the surviving spouse also dies? 2. Does the household get deleted? 3. What if there is activity in the household due to join accounts? 4. Should deceased contacts ever be in a household? Thanks for any input this community can share. We appreciate it.

@Katherine Beltran Thanks Kat for those details. It helps. Nice to be in touch!

The book "Come Up for Air" by Nick Sonnenberg was recently recommended to me and it's really resonating with the work that we do. The tagline is "How Teams can Leverage Systems and Tools to Stop Drowning in Work." He goes through 5 essential tool groups to running a business and I'll further explain tools that we would recommend: ๐Ÿ“ง 1. External communication - "Email should only be used for communicating with people outside your organization" i.e. prospects, clients, vendors, etc. ๐Ÿ™Œ 2. Internal communication - "Should be used for communicating with your team, not managing work" - that's what your CRM is for โœ… 3. Work Management Tool - "Should be used for getting work done" ๐Ÿ“ฝ 4. Knowledge Base Tools - "Answer standard questions: Who, What, Where, When, and/or Why?" ๐Ÿ“ 5. Process Management Tools - "Answer the question How?" So what tool should you use for each? 1. External communication - Email (Either Microsoft365 or Gmail - leaning towards Microsoft as our main recommendation) 2. Internal communication - Microsoft Teams 3. Work Management Tool - Redtail Technology or Wealthbox CRM 4. Knowledge Base Tool - Skool / Sharepoint 5. Process Management Tool - Workflows in Redtail/Wealthbox and Skool for more detailed instructions Your CRM is the hub and where work happens. Skool and Sharepoint are where training and central file storage lives. All together they make up YourFirmOS. The article below is dedicated to using Skool as the training portion of YourFirmOS: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/most-effective-tactic-available-joe-moss-

@Joe Moss - Have your heard if Wealthbox may consider adding OneDrive/Sharepoint to their file storage options? From what I understand, it is not currently supported the way that dropbox is. If you have any insight to this, that would be great. https://help.wealthbox.com/en/articles/1670038-how-do-i-upload-files-into-wealthbox
How I live each day is how I'll live my life...
Two existential posts in a row... how about that! A similar idea is "How you do anything is how you do everything." Recently I've been studying how to enjoy life on a daily basis - days which make weeks, months, years, decades, etc. Days are the building blocks of Life. 3 resources I've enjoyed on this: - The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer - Tranquility by Tuesday by Laura Vanderkam - Ten Lessons I Learned from Peter Drucker by Jim Collins (foreward to The Effective Executive) One overarching theme that I think can give you dividends immediately is "Do only one thing at a time", aka "be present." Not stuck regretting something in the past, or constantly worrying about the future - focus on the thing at hand and be there. Some practical applications I'm "practicing": - Don't multi-task - work on one task at a time. I find my brain doesn't overheat and I do better work, plus I'm just generally happier doing one thing to completion and then doing the next thing. Not trying to watch emails, Teams messages, prep for meetings later in the day, and analyze a CRM export all at the same time. Multi-tasking (for me anyway) typically means a more frustrating, anxious, and less productive day - and lower-quality work. - I tend to keep thinking about work long after I've gotten home, possibly even "catching up" into the evening. This makes for a lousy home life. I'm trying to turn my phone off more often in the evenings, over the weekend, and some days leaving my phone and laptop at the office so there is zero chance for distraction from the present. - Move before 3pm - taken from the Tranquility book - getting a walk in before 3pm each day no matter how busy or piled up my day is. If I don't prioritize this, there will always be something more important and years will go by focusing on the urgent at the expense of the important. - Live at 80% - not booking every day to the max. The difference between time you have and time you spend is "saved time" :)

Thanks Joe! Great reminders. A number of years ago a coach introduced me to the Full Focus Planner. https://fullfocus.co/planner/ Michael Hyatt and team does a great job of helping folks focus on one thing at a time. I really love this tool. It's not for everyone, but for high productivity nerds, it's awesome!
