I’m slightly upset. My business partner decided to dissolve the partnership we had together with our in home care agency and I was against it. I even asked her to reconsider. She felt bad for not pulling her weight and helping me out, so I refunded her the $6k initial investment she made. I am the one that suggested that she receive her full buy in back and she told me she was fine with half of it or whatever I felt was fair….fast forward to a month later I sent her the meeting minutes dissolving the partnership and she sends a text back saying if she can get the $1000 that she put in when we over-drafted our account the week she decided to pull out. I told her that wasn’t part of the buy in, she said I was being unfair and it was the principle. I told her part of the overdraft was negligence on both our ends. She said it wasn’t her responsibility to pay attention to the finances cuz “you had it, Mariam” I reminded her that I had asked help multiple times with the invoicing and P&Ls and she didn’t help. She ended up repeating the same argument saying she didn’t realize that she wasn’t helping me (even though the minutes showed the reason of the dissolution was due to her feeling as though she wasn’t helping me) I know this long but I’m hurt more than anything. I felt like I did the right thing and the generous thing. What would you have done?

Sorry to hear this happened! You did the right thing, however all things considered I would do whatever it takes to get her out of the picture as professionally as possible. You already have a lot on your plate, with no dead weight holding you back you will recoup whatever payment you gave to her quickly!
My client bought my caregiver for $12k & another client is about to do the same.
My heart fell in my stomach when one of our clients text me earlier this week that he wanted to buy out my caregiver's contract. Then yesterday another client offered to buy out yet another one of my amazing caregivers. I was close to tears🤧 There is a clause I have in the client contract to deter private hiring. It states: If a preferred caregiver is contracted privately, the client incurs the cost of $16,000 and other provisions outlined in this contract. I thought this would deter clients from making arrangements to privately contract my caregivers but it's been enabling them! I pour a lot into my caregivers. From hiring all the way through getting them on their first shift and following up with texts, monthly training and team building and not to mention I do quarterly evaluations. This has resulted in high motivation and accountability from my organization and caregivers. Do you think this is good news or bad? How would you feel if a client bought out your caregivers?

This is great, you’re reimbursed for all you put in and the client gets what they’ve longed for!
