Have you ever felt so confident about something, only to realize you knew nothing at all? That was me. I was on the train, rain pouring down outside, heading home. I jumped in a Zoom Call, Copywriting. The camera went on: Patrice Moore. She asked me, "Do you know what real copywriting is?" Of course, I thought. I’ve been in the communication industtry as the spokesperson for over 24 years. Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Samsung, Nintendo — I’ve worked with them all. Copywriting? I’ve got this. But then she showed me how wrong I was. In just minutes, Patrice shattered everything I thought I knew. I watched her write. Every word, every sentence, was like watching magic unfold. It was the complete opposite of everything I’d learned. In corporations, it’s about saying nothing, avoiding numbers, steering clear of anything that could make waves. Keep it safe. Don’t take risks.
