I never get these guys with 2,3 or even 4 years of experience making stuff I can. Are these numbers actually real? Are they just lying in their portfolio?

I have never personally seen people lie about time spent editing, it would be very silly to do so because tbh it dosn't matter. If you have the fundamental skills to edit then you will go far, I have seen my friend Woozie edit for only 2-3 months do better than people that have been in the space for 1+ year, it is about perspective.

@Fakey Vfx yeah that’s a good point, but hey in the long run we can’t really answer the point of why do people lie or do people lie about experience. If they do they do, if your work is better than it’s better. But hey we are here to all succeed so just keeping putting in the hard work and getting better each time!!

NEVER DO THIS AS AN EDITOR
Whatever you do dont buy an editing course, Everything you need is on youtube please dont trust anyone who isnt giving you a 1 to 1 coaching sesh. 90% of courses are just gathering different information on youtube using ChatGPT and Repackaging it. Trust me its not worth your money they are just trying to profit of ppls insecurities.

I disagree. You have 1000s of coaches out there profiting off your insecurities... But people like Mal or Danny or Eros, they actually are in it to help. You also get an amazing network being in a space with people who have the same goals as you!
