Outreach Script Feedback
I am reaching out to high energy using companies like manufacturers, packaging companies etc to sell commercial solar installations. Please critique my current script - "I typically get invited in by *Job Title* of high energy using companies who recognise that their electricity bills are a significant overhead for the business. Others are worried about their carbon footprint and how it affects brand image. Some companies just got a big fright last year when energy prices skyrocketed and now they feel like they don’t have enough security when it comes to their electricity.’’

@Zac Thompson jumping on the band wagon what about mine? Hi is that …… You're probably gonna hate me for this, this is actually a sales call, I don't know if that makes you want to hang up now or give me 30 seconds and then decide, Who is this? - Great Question, Could I run through in 30 seconds and if by then end it’s boring or not relevant we can leave it there - fair enough? Great. We’re typically invited in by ambitious JOB TITLE and if they’re being honest they might be struggling with one of the following problems, 1. Staff are oversharing sensitive data in SaaS apps like Slack and Gdrive making those apps vulnerable and preventing them from being compliant. 2. Your team are manually remediating that sensitive data, which isn’t great because things can be missed and they constantly have to remind colleagues about it. 3. OR Your team can't classify and label data properly, making data more vulnerable to unauthorized access and potential breaches. 4. Now, I’ve got a feeling none of these problems exist in your world, (Objection - you’ve got a great tool in place) and everything’s perfect? I'm slinging data security for SaaS apps to fintechs, these companies need to prove they know what data is where, what it is and how much is there and who has access otherwise they could be fined and lose biz, customers etc. It's a highly regulated industry

@Zac Thompson Thanks, really appreciate the feedback. Yeah recently investing in something was deffo a moment where I should've been a bit more interested in. 'Find the problem' is gonna be in my head moving forward.

How do you handle a prospect who is super interested but insists on a email before booking anything in. Had this one the other day, I asked for the meeting a few times but no cigar.

@Munro Barclay-Miller Ayahuasca
Introduction
Afternoon troops, Been in sales since January, BDM for a commercial solar installer based in Scotland. In terms of the role, I’ll scope out companies that fit our criteria (typically north of Manchester, roof big enough for minimum 100kW of solar and a high energy user - manufacturer etc) then I’ll scour LinkedIn for a good person to contact which can be a stab in the dark for solar tbf (Sustainability Manager, Facilities Manager, Engineering Manager, Finance Manager, MD if I’m lucky) Then I would cold email, follow up, book a discovery meeting, get some info on their leccy consumption, leccy tariff. Then send this to our design team, they design and quote (1-2 weeks) send to me I make proposal with generation, payback, co2 reduction etc Then there’s a lot of chasing for a meeting to go through proposal or waiting for it to go through the chain of command to finally move forward with sign up for pre-construction. Then I’m a account manager in a sense until pre-construction is over and its passed onto a project manager for the install. I have only recently plucked up the courage to cold call rather than hide behind the email so just trying to learn as much as possible on it. Thanks for having me!
