@Slim Mab I'm doing woodworking, I'm not machining metals, with the exception, I promised a couple of punched tin lanterns to someone, but I can't imagine how to cnc that.

I'm Jim, I have had a couple of successful homesteading groups on social media and flirted with the idea of YouTube, but life gets in the way. I've always loved woodworking and finally have a shop where I can do things. My short term goal is to be able to generate enough income to skip the summer job. I'm a full time substitute teacher and usually in the summers I take a pay cut, the goal is replace that income ahead of time and just keep building my business.

I'm Jim, I live is Springfield, Ohio. I own Soldier Farms, llc. I started a small woodworking business to replace the necessity for a summer job, as I am a full time substitute teacher. As far as my cnc journey, it arrived last night and I still have to build a stand for it. We bought the Genmitsu 4040 Pro. It's the best machine in my budget and upgradeable on all three axis with the option to add a bed and dividing head for 4th axis work. I didn't buy a cnc for complicated machining, I want to engrave or monogram stuff I make because online markets want personalized products. I also wanted the cnc for It's ability to carve multiple small units out of a single piece of stock while I am doing something else. Thinking of it as a work multiplier. But at the.moment, it's a pretty paperweight because I know next t9 nothing about it.
If I buy this cnc machine from China is it everything I need to get started?

I almost bought one of those, telling myself it was just to learn and I'd upgrade later. Then I looked at all the extras to upgrade one axis or a bigger Cutter or better motors. I decided to go with a happy medium, because I am brand new to cnc, but don't want to outgrow what I need to do before I get the machine ready to work. I bought a Genmitsu 4040 Pro. It is a very upgradeable machine but is bigger than my needs at the present.

@Slim Mab I just started a woodworking business as a means of avoiding a summer timeclock. I got the cnc to help personalize some things to sell on Etsy, but through the winter if I can run some jobs in the basement and not heat my whole shop it would be a big bonus
