Who Has Earned Your Attention Lately?
Lately, I’ve read and watched a lot of “Be a better writer” content as I build out modules and figure out how to make this community valuable. My three recommendations right now are: - Nicholas Cole - Dan Koe - Donald Miller 3 people doing completely different things but all helpful in learning to write, develop content, and build a writing and marketing business. Who are you paying your attention to right now?

@Kingsley Frederick it’s awesome stuff!
To-Do List w/o November 11th
As a way to hold myself accountable and "work in weeks, not days," here's what I plan on achieving this week for this group: 1. At least 5 60-second tips and tricks - These will help you either a) improve your writing immediately or b) save you time (so you can work on other important things in your business or writing) 2. Re-do my welcome video - I know it was bad, but that was kind of the point. I'm sure the next one won't be a lot better, but improving is improving. 3. Design a "Portfolio Builder" Module so that when people join Six Figure Writer they can hit the ground running and make progress immediately. If there's anything else you'd like me to focus on, I'm all 🌽🌽.

Wrote my first 60 second tips and tricks - though I changed the title to 60 second lessons. This was on the Pyramid Principle. For now it’s just copy but my goal will be to make them into videos for each module. More to come later this week!

@Keith Berg real ones know. 😆
Welcome! Don't mind the dust...
First, thank you so much for joining Six Figure Writer! Second, we are still under construction... so, while there isn't a lot here yet, I will slowly be building it over the next few weeks! Third, you will play a major role in that construction - as I hope to still generate some value for you while the cranes are working their magic. If you have some copy you'd like an extra set of eyes on, a VSL you want feedback for, or just want to know how you can IMMEDIATELY start getting paid to write, please feel free to post or DM me! I'd love to help wherever and however I can!

@Angel Fletcher Welcome! And thank you so much for the encouragement. Hopefully, I can show you all what NOT to do to add even more value for you. :-)

Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller
This is the ONE book you should read about copywriting. If you've been looking for a copywriting book that will help you writer better and serve your customers/clients more, this is the book. It outlines the importance of making your customer the main character instead of the brand. It also speaks of simplifying your message and treating the solutions you provide like a movie script. There is a guide/blueprint they have you use at the end of the book to bring it all together. This includes: 1. Character – Identifying who the customer is and what they want. 2. Problem – Pinpointing a specific problem the customer faces. 3. Guide – Positioning the brand as a guide to help the customer, showing empathy and authority. 4. Plan – Providing a clear, actionable plan for the customer to follow. 5. Call to Action – Prompting the customer to take action. 6. Success – Showing how the product or service will lead to success for the customer. 7. Failure – Outlining what the customer risks by not taking action. But - you know what's even more amazing than that? You can hop on over to ChatGPT and build the StoryBrand framework with it! I just put in the prompt, "are you familiar with storybrand by donald miller?" and we are off to the races! Here is what it's helped me nail down for this group – Six Figure Writer: 1. Character - Who they are: A professional writer, often in a traditional job or freelance position, who wants financial security and greater control over their career. - What they want: To make over six figures so they can achieve financial freedom, avoid job insecurity, and choose work they’re passionate about with high-quality clients. 2. Problem - External Problem: They aren’t making enough money in their writing career to feel secure or fulfilled. - Internal Problem: They feel undervalued, stuck, or financially strained and are frustrated by limited income and job control. - Philosophical Problem: They believe they deserve to do fulfilling work and be compensated well for it.
