The Resilient Path
All of you know that I have been working on curriculum for trauma-informed organizations over the past few years. While there is strong interest in small pockets for this material, it was not enough for my previous employer to continue to put resources behind, so I’ve ventured out on my own. This work is too important to put down. That being the case, I’ve started to write a book to help individuals and eventually organizations understand the impacts of trauma all around and within us, as well as how to heal and protect against its effects: Resilience. Here’s a summary of content that I plan to discuss through the lens of my life experiences and work by discussing my own stories and struggles. It’s not advice as much as an exploration of each concept and its utility in my life. The Destination: Where Do I Want to Go? 1. Who Am I? 2. Belonging 3. Ubuntu The Path: What to Do to Get to My Destination? 4. Sensitivity vs. Fragility 5. Superhero in My Own Movie 6. Reframing: Redefining Problems as Opportunities 7. The Power of Self-Esteem The Obstacles: What I Must Overcome to Reach My Destination? 8. Is This Why the Caged Bird Sings? 9. Three Self-Care Pillars (Bite, Bound, Breathe) The Gear: What Tools Will Help Me? 10. (Unlock My Best Self) 11. (Positive Psychology Exercises) The Duration: How Long Will It Take? 12. Dreamscaping 13. Reflect and Adjust What am I missing? What seems like too much or extra? How would you like to read about/experience this material?

I think in the piece about which tools will help me get there you can tie in the identify and belonging piece and talk about how your community has played a role in unlocking resistance. How has your support been an extra gear for you?

Hi, everyone! I'm Javaree, and I've been a Knicks fan for 30 years and there’s nothing quite like the joy I feel when the Knicks are on a winning streak! My wife and I even have a playful rivalry at Bulls- Knicks games; she roots for the Bulls. In the photo I’m sharing, you might notice I’m not smiling because sometimes I take these things a bit seriously! LOL I’m all about meaningful connections, whether it’s talking about what matters most to you or exploring ideas that can make a real difference in our lives. I believe in the power of growth and lifting each other up, and I’m always excited to find solutions to everyday challenges, especially when it comes to family. Speaking of family, they are my foundation—I’m fortunate to have a wonderful wife, two amazing kids, an older brother, and two loving parents, along with 15 uncles and aunts and around 25 first cousins. I’m looking forward to being part of this space, connecting with all of you, and supporting each other on our journeys! When I’m not doing the 9 to 5 thing helping corporate digital marketing teams with social strategy I’m helping parents be their best selves for their little humans.
