The Resilient Path
All of you know that I have been working on curriculum for trauma-informed organizations over the past few years. While there is strong interest in small pockets for this material, it was not enough for my previous employer to continue to put resources behind, so I’ve ventured out on my own.
This work is too important to put down.
That being the case, I’ve started to write a book to help individuals and eventually organizations understand the impacts of trauma all around and within us, as well as how to heal and protect against its effects: Resilience.
Here’s a summary of content that I plan to discuss through the lens of my life experiences and work by discussing my own stories and struggles. It’s not advice as much as an exploration of each concept and its utility in my life.
  1. Who Am I?
  2. Belonging
  3. Ubuntu
  1. Sensitivity vs. Fragility
  2. Superhero in My Own Movie
  3. Reframing: Redefining Problems as Opportunities
  4. The Power of Self-Esteem
  1. Is This Why the Caged Bird Sings?
  2. Three Self-Care Pillars (Bite, Bound, Breathe)
  1. (Unlock My Best Self)
  2. (Positive Psychology Exercises)
  1. Dreamscaping
  2. Reflect and Adjust
What am I missing?
What seems like too much or extra?
How would you like to read about/experience this material?
