I really need some feedback on the track I’m working on right now. It’s like my musical vibe is doing all the heavy lifting. I’m kinda blending boom bap trap with cinematic music. Let me know what y’all think, for real.

Now this actually sounds like more modern trap. It's a fundamentally good beat. I'd look at some of your favorite Metro Boomin', Turbo, and Wondagurl songs and see how they build up the intro with drops, transitions and simple textured sounds effects to make the beat sound a bit more polished. Also, getting yourself a tag from someone well known in the game like Jay Neutron, who has done the tags of 808 Mafia, Metro, and Murda Beatz would help ypu with brand development. When I go to my main producer I ask him to give me a version of the beat with and without a topline melody for the chorus. It can help give can artist an idea of where they can go with the song without locking them into any onr particular idea. In hip-hop, less is often more, so I really do like how stripped back the instrumental is!

@Marine Christon a lot of hip-hop artists have their own go to producer that will ad some post production to your beat, but leaving it how it is would be fine for most people. Just starting off though, make sure you at least mid the song well enough that the drums and base do hit harder on cell phones or awful car speakers. That's were a lot of new artists will be listening your your music. Setting up a type-beats youtube channel isn't as profitable as it once was back in 2016, but now more people are digging into watching you create content. Set up a little Webcam or your phone on a stand, practice recording and narrating your production process if you haven't already. People like seeing your journey as you grow day by day.

@Marine Christon Absolutely! It was authentic music that people could vibe with. Its sad that the scene has gotten over saturated in the last couple of years though.

Word of mouth, street teams, and even flyers can help. We live in a social media era though, so creating engaging content is king.

I'll break down some more creative and effective options that grow your fan base and followers for your music: Content Creation and Social Media 1. Consistent Posting Schedule: Post regularly on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Use a mix of performances, behind-the-scenes, and engaging content. 2. Collaborations: Work with other artists or influencers to cross-promote and reach new audiences. 3. Challenges and Trends: Create a music challenge around your song for TikTok or Instagram Reels. (This one really depends on how creative you truly are. Take that challenge head on and see your following explode!) 4. Live Streams: Host live Q&A sessions, acoustic performances, or songwriting processes on Instagram, YouTube, or Twitch. 5. Engage with Fans: Respond to comments and messages authentically, using polls, stickers, and questions in Stories. 6. Themed Content Series: Start a mini-series like "Song Stories" where you explain the inspiration behind your tracks. Digital Marketing 7. Paid Ads: Use Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok ads with targeted campaigns focusing on your ideal audience. 8. SEO Optimization: Add keywords to your YouTube, website, and social media profiles to make them discoverable. 9. Influencer Marketing: Collaborate with niche influencers who align with your music genre to promote your songs. (This one isn't as effective as it once was and is honestly closer to gambling. If you do choose this route, try to hit up several smaller influencers than just one huge one that eats up the budget of 10 other content creators.) Engaging Your Community 10. Exclusive Fan Groups: Create a private Facebook group or Discord server for your most engaged fans. 11. Fan-Created Content: Encourage fans to create content using your music and reshare their posts. 12. Street Teams: Organize small groups of passionate fans to promote your music online or offline. 13. Crowdfunding Campaigns: Engage fans through platforms like Patreon or Kickstarter for exclusive content or merchandise.

Do you know where the nearest place to get screen printed shirts are, their prices, and how many you need to get from a wholesaler for those shirts to come out as cheap as possible? Oftentimes making an online merchandise store is better than having product on hand, but I personally do both.

@Eddie Carey thats about 14 dollars with taxes and shipping per individual unit, depending on if you screen print them, direct-to-garment, or direct-to-film. If you look around you can get bulk orders between 35-75 shirts at a price of 8 or 9 dollars a piece.
