Update and Learnings from my recent deal!
Hey Guys. I wanted to make a quick video about the learnings I’ve had from starting to work with Outpost Buildings which will hopefully inspire you to believe in what we provide and ask for higher rates because of it. Here’s the rundown… https://www.loom.com/share/9162f84929814ede8f495d5f9ddeabb1

How would you spend the $5k?
Imagine this... you can go back and spend $5,000 on yourself at the very beginning of your business journey, knowing what you know now. It can be on anything. Whatever you believe would have helped you progress the fastest. Can be gear, ads, courses, coaching, networking opportunities- anything. What do you spend it on? __ (going to pick one person on Friday 11/1 to send out a kickass Content Savage hat to 🤙)

This is a great question Dave! I would spend $2k on courses/ mentorship because knowing how to sell is going to get me further ahead than having expensive gear. $1.5k would be for 2 used cameras, 2 lenses and a couple tripods $750 on lighting and audio (rode wireless setup and 2 lights with stands) $750 on experiences that give me hands on opportunities to put my learnings to practise. Getting in front of businesses owners that have the ability to pay for my services and would massively benefit from them is the fastest way I’ve found to signing some deals.

@Dave Lisowski Same here! Zero2Warrior had such a huge impact on how I approach sales and communicate with business owners. It really laid the groundwork for me to genuinely help them by understanding and speaking their language. Then, going through Content Creator with you and Ceebz took it further—now I know exactly what to sell, why these types of videos are so effective, and have a structured system to land bigger clients. Investing in myself has made a bigger difference than any gear purchase ever could. Don’t get me wrong—I love my gear, and clients who are investing thousands with me do notice and often comment on how professional it all looks, which I think reinforces their confidence in the value they’re getting. But starting out, it wasn’t the equipment that mattered most. As for experiences, I’d say take a day off to shadow someone on set, or do a free video for a business where you see potential for ongoing work and cover your travel costs if needed. Networking meetups are also key for building connections with others in the field. And yeah, these things come with expenses, so the rest of the budget would be to cover that.
$25K Deal Closed!! Biggest deal to date! Here's how it happened...
Hey Guys, last week I got a signed contract back from a company that I've been talking about on the mastermind calls for the last few weeks. Deliverables: - 10 Core Videos - 6 Reels - 20+ Photos Here's a breakdown of the deal and how I got it... https://www.loom.com/share/3ce0b61ebd0f4de384d6e4a4c6082263?sid=adf35bc4-403a-4f26-a271-3de34fc8987e

Thanks Dave!! I’m so pumped for the work I’ve got coming up!! Really cool businesses that have very visually appealing products. I can see I’ll have a long term relationship with all of them. There’s a motorhome (RV) show coming up soon that I’m going to go too… make some free videos for these businesses to create some more conversations. I feel like I’ve got a blueprint that works for me now and I’ve got businesses that I’m working with that I can use as social proof that other people trust what I do. Yeah the shed is awesome! Exactly what I needed too. Yeah, I’ll document the process from pick up from the factory to putting it together. I think that was a big reason that moved forward with the deal… they had no way to document the full process so offering that as an option made it a no brainier. I took my wife, daughter and in laws out for dinner when I had the contract signed! Such a good feeling to go out and enjoy ourselves after 2 years of earning very little.

@Cheryl P Thanks Cheryl! It sure was! My plan is to use this momentum to land a few more clients too.
#DealClosed $8k for a VBC (Half Day Shoot)
Nearly forgot to post, but closed an $8k VBC project with a client we did a VBC for a couple years back 🤘 How the Deal Came About: This is a returning client I'd met from my old BNI group, and we made a VBC for them a couple years back for $6k. They loved it, and now that they're in a new office, they wanna refresh to make sure they're presenting the right image of who they are and what they're all about. Scope: - 1 Half Production Day, 3 Person Team - 90-minute Deep Dive to lock in messaging Deliverables: - 2-minute VBC - 4 FAQ videos (<60s) - 4 Team Intro videos (~30s) Takeaway: Their existing VBC is great, and totally could still "work", but they see the value of a strong brand. In their space (public adjusting), not many others put a focus on that, so they want to crush it by being the one that rises above the rest. Helps that their really damn good at what they do. They don't need to see an "immediate ROI"- they know it's a bigger, longer play. That's also why we included a few FAQ and "team intro" videos. Helps to keep them showing face, and gives them more touch points with clients throughout their process. This'll be a good one!

@Dave Lisowski Having a great team makes all the difference! I’ve been think a lot lately of bringing on at least 1 person to help me on set. I would want them to sort out the cameras and make sure everything looks good while I run the interview and get the messaging right. There’s so many things to think about when you’re by yourself and I haven’t been nailing every aspect of that lately. Any tips on assembling the ultimate team? Also want an editor and take that off my plate. I’ve got 11 videos to edit atm and it’s taking so much of my time!

@Dave Lisowski That would be awesome if you could! I just need someone I can start working with doing smaller projects to take some off my plate. I much prefer the selling and shooting and that would free me up to do more of that. When you’ve got external editors how do you store the footage? Do you use a cloud service or your own NAS?
