RLS and OLS Recommendations
Have a questions regarding some of the row level security and object level security through out end to end analytics. For bronze and silver tier this will be higher level using workspaces (plan for now) but end users would like access to both Power BI reports as well as querying data from gold tier (most likely a data warehouse) and we would like to use Entra Id and setup one place for end users access. So if user A can only access Table 1 and columns X and Z, we would like to be able to restrict that access in the reports as well as DW from one place.

Great insights @Lukasz Obst! From what I was reading, if we try and setup on the DW or Endpoints then PowerBI will fallback to direct query which I agree, we don't want to use, was really looking at Direct Lake. Previous experience we use Analysis Services which was pretty amazing performance wise so hoping Direct Lake performance is awesome. One thing I was thinking as well is we are using Power BI as part of our implementation but why I really liked the idea of centralized RLS/OLS is a larger company and I know they have some Qlik users and stood up a few instances so if they hook into our data warehouse and expect RLS/OLS to work, even thought outside our implementation is a concern that I would want to raise to them.

@Pallavi Routaray Just curious what your fix was? I was also not following 100% on the gateway connection (which I thought was connecting from cloud to on-prem systems) but didn't really have anything to do with RLS?
End users (Non-Tech) ability to update variable data for validatations
Hopefully this makes sense but we may have a scenario where in our pipeline for moving data from say bronze to silver and doing validation checks we will have a threshold variable that maybe changed by a end users, this picture would be making it going from say 1,000 dollar sale to 1,500 and could see this being a default and override depending on the day (say week before Christmas this number needs to go up even more). In old world of SQL and c# building days we would have a portal and user updating a table, in fabric world with notebooks, what maybe some best practices for non-tech end users to be able to configure this and can we pull this variable I guess from just another table in the warehouse/lakehouse maybe?

Workspace Structure Thoughts?
Hi Everybody... We are going to be setting up our workspaces hopefully next week and was curious if anyone has lessons learned for creating workspaces. Initially was thinking workspace for the Bronze tier, one for silver and one for gold then different ones for semantic model by subject area (Operations, Marketing, HR, etc.) Then was thinking of combining the workspaces for bronze and silver and potentially gold as well into one so we wouldn't have any potential limitations of tools. Any feedback anyone has is greatly appreciated, I also don't mind fumbling through as well as best way to learn sometimes. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thank you for the links, yeah I have watched the Power BI to Fabric, will go back and rewatch, I think there are many options so really just trying to narrow down the best option at the moment

Hey to everyone. I am Justin, I work in the US as a consultant. New project I am starting on is building end to end analytics solution using Fabric so excited to make the move into this new world and all it has to offer! Went through the 3 1/2 hr video put together by Will and one of the best I have seen! Am curious on a few things so hopefully can help me with a few different perspectives as I go down this road!
