@Amanda Mallin thanks, friend. She's in there now! They started at 10 AM and she won't get back to her room until around 6 PM. ๐Ÿ™

I missed this when I posted before... so I'll add Anastassia to this list. She will be going into surgery on Wednesday. She has a brain bleed and an aneurysm behind her eye. Prayers for a successful operation. ๐Ÿ™
The Blessing of Saying No: Pastor Ed Newton
"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age." - Titus 2:11-12 In a world that promotes instant gratification and self-indulgence, it can be challenging to say no to the temptations that surround us. Advertisements, social media, and even peer pressure encourage us to chase after whatever feels good in the moment. For many, the idea of self-control and denying oneself seems outdated and unappealing. As believers, we are called to live differently. We are called to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives. This calling often requires us to say no to things that others readily embrace. It might feel like weโ€™re missing out, but God promises to bless us for our obedience and self-discipline. When we say no to the things of this world, we are making a statement of faith. We are declaring that we trust Godโ€™s plan for our lives and believe that His ways are better than the fleeting pleasures of sin. This act of obedience is not without reward. God honors those who choose to follow Him over the desires of the flesh. If you ever feel like youโ€™re missing out by not indulging in worldly desires, remember that Godโ€™s blessings are eternal and far more satisfying than any temporary pleasure. Trust that He will honor your obedience and self-control. Your decision to say no to the things of this world is a testimony to your faith and commitment to God. Reflect on the areas in your life where you are tempted to give in to worldly passions. Ask God for the strength to say no and for the assurance that His blessings are worth the wait. Remember that every act of obedience brings you closer to Him and aligns you with His perfect will. God will bless you for saying no to the things of this world. Your faithfulness and self-discipline will not go unnoticed. Trust in His promises and look forward to the greater rewards that come from living a life that honors Him. Embrace the peace and joy that come from knowing you are walking in His ways, and let your life be a testament to the incredible blessings that come from saying no to the world and yes to God.

๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ ๐Ÿ’ฏ This is probably one of the biggest trials we will face. Especially when the temptations around us are things we've indulged lovingly with in the past. I would love to hear from the group: What are the biggest worldly temptations you find yourself struggling against??

It's hard to be vulnerable sometimes, but here are some of mine: - I've never been a drinker, but would partake in THC, almost daily sometimes. Now, I'm the one not partaking in these types of recreational activity. Sometimes being the one setting the example can feel hard, but I feel so much more connected to the Lord with my Bible and a clear mind! - I want to respect and love the body the Lord gave me, but the enemy has temptations everywhere. If I don't plan well, and end up very hungry, junk food is too easily accessible. - Overstimulation. Being too busy and tired can temp me to be short and easily frustrated. It's so easy to schedule ourselves too thin! I need to remind myself to focus on Him and stay connected.

I will go first as an example: Hey ladies, I just moved to San Antonio, TX from Pennsylvania, with my husband, Donny, and two children Daxton (4) and Kinsley (2). We are learning how to walk by faith, not by sight, literally. The Lord has been working in Donny's heart as he resigned from the federal government to pursue the entrepreneurial lifestyle of fitness coaching in faith full time. The Lord has been working on me, and called me home to my children after a 15 year career in education/school administration. Our song these days is Jireh, trusting that the good Lord will provide! Our previous church wrote our story on their blog if you want to hear more about the Mallin's faith journey: https://dutilhchurch.org/blog/ysmh-mallinfamily

Hi ladies! My name is Khrystal. I live in PA, just outside of Pittsburgh, with my two little ones (3 and 1) and amazing husband. They are true gifts from God! My husband and I are business owners and are blessed to both work together and have the flexibility to spend time our kids. As they continue to grow, I'm feeling led by God to shift my focus into raising healthy kids filled with the spirit. Almost daily I remember Luke 12:48 "Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more." My husband and I take this to heart when working with our staff so that we are always working to serve them. I've known Amanda since we were young, and she's always been a blessing to me. She brought me along with her on a spiritual journey through the Bible this year and I look forward to continuing that journey with all of you. <3
