Before my eyes even opened this morning, these two words were on my heart. As I began to pray, these two words formed into two questions to really reflect on: 1) Do I fully trust God? With every detail... every aspect of my life...with entirety? 2) Am I honoring God? With my heart posture... thoughts... my actions... how I spend my time? These are hard questions, but I believe He put them at the forefront of my mind to remind me to set my mind on things above. To live simply. To walk humbly. To keep trusting, even when I can't see the work of His hand... He is working. So I need to keep praising and thanking Him because He is worthy! When I think about the word honor, it strikes a cord deep within me. It comes from a place of deep reverence. It is a reminder that our God is HOLY. Holy and awesome is He! "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” Numbers 23:19 NKJV Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. He is still the miracle working, promising keeping God that frees His people and breaks the chains that bind us. He can do anything and wants us to co-partner with Him in prayer, believing in faith that every word He has spoken can and will come to pass. So let's honor Him in our prayer life, trusting that His ways our higher, that He has a plan and He is in control. He is beyond time, the God that steps into time to fulfill every prophecy in His word. He has not forgotten His children and He will not forsake the righteous who call upon His name. I believe we are being called higher, to draw near to Him and stay close, so He can strengthen us and give us His peace. Prayer is how we can walk by faith, confidently speaking His word so that it comes alive in us and He can work through us. It is such a gift that He gives us His word so that as we read our Bibles, it soaks into our hearts so it can flow out of us. “My sons and daughters, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart.”
