Primary bedroom measurement question
Hi, everyone! I'm picking out some bedroom furniture and have a question about whether clearance is needed. The wall where I'm going to put my king-size bed is 13 feet, so 156 inches. The bedframe will take up 86 of those inches, leaving 70 inches for nightstands. The nightstands I'm interested in are 34 inches wide each, so 68 inches total. This leaves only 2 inches of wiggle room, so the nightstands could potentially touch the baseboards on one side and the bedframe on the other side. Is that okay? Or should I choose more narrow nightstands? Thank you!

@Kerstin Morey I think it might be snug actually! I have 156 inches of width to work with, and the bed + 2 nightstands add up to 154 inches, leaving only 2 inches of clearance TOTAL. Is that too snug? The three pieces of furniture could be practically touching. Thank you!

@Kerstin Morey No worries I totally get it! I wrote it to Pottery Barn and they were able to help me :) I'll have plenty of cabinet related questions in the future haha.

I am manifesting this so hard lol. I'm a new homeowner saving up for a future kitchen remodel but I can't figure out a functional layout in my space. Would love to have your professional opinion! Thanks for everything you share for free, Kerstin!

@Kerstin Morey Thank you :)
Appliances
Appliances. When doing your remodel are you looking at replacing all of your appliances at once or replacing only the ones that are in need? Thinking about getting a whole package like same brand for rebates and discounts you might get it or splitting up appliance brands because some brands aren't all equal?

I'm such a perfectionist that I would probably save up in order to replace them all at once so I didn't have to worry about remeasuring the appliance openings later. For example I love the look of a counter-depth fridge with a cabinet around it but my current fridge is not counter depth. I'm sure appliances are very similar in size, but I wouldn't want the stress later down the road of making sure the new appliance is the same size as the previous one. I also would want the appliances to match. I've read great things about Bosch fridges!

Welcome!
Welcome everyone!! I'm super excited for our private community! Don't be shy and ask away questions. Think about upfront planning & design stage, innovation, products, inspiration and also any kind of hang ups you run into during your remodel. :-) Kerstin

@Lauren Branigan Did you make this yourself? If so, what software did you use? I've been using Canva and hand drawn sketches and neither are very efficient lol
