Skool for the Win!!
Differently
What’s one thing you would do differently if you had to start your community up again? I spent way too much time on planning rather than implementing bit by bit.

@Ben Attanasio I’ve heard this time and time again from various community owners. If you had to do it over again, what would you do differently?

@Roshie Shaw Done is better than perfect. Putting the first versions in front of target audience and iterate based on their feedback rather than waiting to deliver what I think would be perfect to them. So much time wasted doing the latter.
Understanding WHAT and WHY your Community is about
As I've spend the last 2 days analysing this and many other communities, I've come to understand a couple points that I have been unclear on. When building a community, it’s easy to focus solely on WHAT your community is about—whether it’s about startups, tech, entrepreneurship, or personal development. But the real key to success lies in understanding WHY your community exists in the first place. The Approach that Works: The most successful communities are built on a clear purpose. It's not enough to simply gather like-minded people. You need to define your community’s unique selling point (USP)—what sets you apart and makes your community irresistible and how they benefit from your community specifically. The Approach That Doesn’t Work: On the other hand, focusing too much on what your community is without emphasising why it matters to your avatar will lead to superficial engagement. Here’s why: If your community’s focus is unclear, members will lose interest or struggle to find value. People need to understand the deeper reason (to feel included) behind the community’s existence—how it supports their goals and aligns with their values. When you focus too much on selling, rather than fostering genuine relationships or adding value, your community will feel like just another transactional space. Think micro-transactions in video games (i know we all hate those). This results in low engagement and a lack of loyalty, people will just dump out and your churn will skyrocket. The Bottom Line: Ask yourself, "why does your community exist beyond just offering products or services?" What makes your approach unique and irresistible to your ideal members? If you can clearly define both the WHAT (the topic or focus) and the WHY (the deeper purpose and the value your community brings), you will create a magnetic community that draws people in and keeps them coming back.

Well said. People don’t buy products, they buy transformations! @Michael Delgado
Bilingual community ?
Hello I'm quite new around here, I was wondering : I'm French speaking, and I plan to build my community in French, but I am also sooo sure of what it is about, I was wondering, has anyone tried to have a community in which two languages are used ? Like every course would be double. I fear it would je less engaging because people might feel less integrated because of the fact that they cannot understand some of the posts. Thank you all for your help 😄

Maybe @Stephanie Hetu can offer up any thoughts/learnings here.
TOO MANY???
Is there a such thing as TOO MANY communities? I have so many interests, hobbies, passions, and curiosities... I am in so many communities! I think maybe it is getting hard to keep up with all of them. But I can't stop! What do you guys think? Can you be in too many communities?

I feel you, and I think it totally depends on your reason for joining Skool to begin with. For me I joined Skool primarily to build a community, because my time is limited, I’m mostly joining communities where I’m connecting with folks that I can either bring value to or I can learn from. As of now, that’s the single thing determining which communities I join. It may change down the line.
