Is the Ivy League Worth It?
The Ivy League – those eight schools everyone is obsessed with. But is all the hype worth it? Here’s the thing, those acceptance rates are brutal. 10% – that means only 1 out of 10 students get in! So if you’re one of the lucky ones… is it worth the tuition? (We’re talking $70-80k a year!) But Ivy League financial aid is amazing. If your family makes under $65k you can go to Harvard for free. And if you’re between $65k and $150k you only pay 10% of the total cost. (Harvard was cheaper for my brother than his biggest state school!) People say you can get the same education at most colleges and the only difference is the connections and networking. Is it fair? Maybe not. But it’s reality. (Think about it.) Share your thoughts in the comment section!!

I think Ivy league is just a title. When you apply to schools, don't look for the clout or anything, look at their programs. Example: Carnegie Mellon's computer science program far exceeds the ones at Dartmouth, and it is one of the best. Just remember this one piece of advice: Look at the plans/programs compared to the school.

@Anish Palwai exactly my point. compare the jobs to the universities and you'll see quickly that most majors have similar monetary gain.
How to Avoid Burnout?
Hi guys! When I joined this community, I had all of these ambitions and aspirations. I wanted to go to ISEF, I wanted to create this cool robotics project, etc. etc. I worked the entire day and then the next day I felt: lazy. I kept thinking to myself, "Shouldn't you at least *try* to do some work?" and then I'd hop back on YouTube and watch someone explain "The History of Google Chrome World Records." Even though I *wanted* to start working, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Has anyone else had this experience? If so, what have you done to prevent it? Tysm for the help ❤️ (PS I didn't know where to put this so I put it in schoolwork)

Take breaks! Rest and just look at the roof/wall doing nothing once in a while.
Paperclip Maximizer Ending Humanity??
The world is a weird place. Like, how would a paperclip factory lead to the end of the world? Sounds nuts but the implications are scarier than you think. Imagine 2029. We just achieved AGI – artificial intelligence so advanced it blows our minds. We want to cure diseases, solve the energy crisis, maybe even interstellar travel, you name it and it can do it for us. But for its first task, we ask the AGI to maximize paperclip production as efficiently as possible. Sounds harmless, right? Wrong. If we don’t set things up just right that AGI might just decide humans are in the way of its goal. We take up space, we consume resources – and no one’s going to sacrifice humanity for more paperclips. But a machine focused solely on optimization? Who knows what it might do? The point that Im trying to make is that paperclips should be a zero risk task. But we don’t know how to program human values into a machine that can think for itself. Think about it... What do you guys think? Share your thoughts in the comment below and do you have an idea of preventing this? (don't just say to stop AI development, just might be a solution but we want to improve our lives. A classic example is how when the calculator was first invented, people said that mathematicians were done, but we still have them here; it just made our lives easier, I think the same goes for AI if we use it in the right way) I want to know your guy's perspectives on this.

I think humans would probably have some type of control over AI, like having 50.1% percent of a stock, it would be mostly humans controlling it. That said, this is very possible, but would humans just design AI for the sole goal of optimization? That, I do not know.
Best note-taking method?
I am going to high school in August, and I have heard that taking notes is essential. How do you guys take notes?

I don't really have a note taking system...for science, I just understand the concepts and maybe write it down if I think it would be important. Note taking doesn't have to be aesthetic or anything, just so that you understand it, not anyone else.
How can I Study/Work when my body doesn't respond
Just two days ago I started feeling a horrible pain in my back, at first i didn't think anything of it, but later it got worse it felt like my body had been drained of its blood. It still hurts currently, however i want to study more but with this pain i can only study for 1-2 hours max. The rest of my day is spent on the bed and i don't feel like eating. I am not worried about the pain, but worried of not getting my work done. I think the pain is of my horrible posture, whether i am working, eating or just relaxing i can see that my posture is horrendous. What i want to know is despite your body not responding, feeling tired or fatigued, how can i still get my work done and study when i don't feel like it. I am taking lots of breaks but nothing is working and i simply can't get my work done no matter how much i try. Please do tell me any techniques you guys use when you are in a similar position.

Whenever I get cramps like that, I usually try to stretch and do light exercise. Most times, I can barely even finish stretching. In that case, I would just rest reading a book or listening to music. I hope you get better!
