Concrete sidewalk and patio during foundation pour
I'm looking at ways to save on cost for some things that are typically done post build, namely having a concrete sidewalk and patio (probably stamped) done at the same time as foundation pour to save having another trip for a concrete pour and labour. Basically I'm looking at economies of scale that may save thousands if done all at the same time. Has anyone every done this? Can this be done or is it best to wait for settlement? Does another permit need to be issued or existing permit amended for this work? Thanks

why don't you skip the concrete and do something like below. Plastic Grid: A grid system made of durable plastic panels that interlock. These grids are designed to hold infill materials like gravel, grass, or even sand. They provide structural support, reducing the amount of gravel needed and preventing it from shifting or being displaced.

Thanks for the response. Yeah that's very likely and i don't think its going to change with city projects doubling in cost , I see that all the time and it will only over flow into peoples taxes... things are not going to get better for a long time or ever depending on the next election. Cities don't know how to manage anything and regulations have killed building anything...for example cutting down some of your own trees in Toronto cost 25k lol ... this country is cooked.

What makes you want to build your own house? What do you want from your house? Great view or zero heating bills what kind of design? Do you want the windows to be secure? you can get plastic film to make them break resistant.

Soil Engineering - Residential ?
Good morning Anyone aware of a decent soils engineering company for residential? They would provide a simple soils report with bearing pressure information.
