Whats the standard rate for a good thumbnail?
If a client asks if it's worth for them to hire someone who just does thumbnail editing what should you say? I don't really have experience making thumbnails so I said I could make some basic ones in the meantime. How do you make a good thumbnail and how much do you charge?

Hey @Joshua Cardoso I currently use canva for thumbnails here and there, I would like to learn photoshop soon but right now I'm focused on video editing as I'm getting paid to do it. As for you, I would consider learning photoshop. You should also time yourself how long it takes, for example it takes an hour. I made thumbnails for a youtuber last year, got about $10 AUD for those ($6 USD). I was still learning how to do thumbnails back then and he also had a small budget for thumbnails as he was a small creator but I enjoyed making them. Again, time yourself to see how long it takes you and then try and negotiate a fair price with the client over a call not messaging. The reason I say over call it seems less aggressive trying to work out a price instead of texting as it can feel aggressive which could throw the client off or even feel the need to defend himself. Hope this helps.
First Official YouTube Video - Help Me Pick The Best Thumbnail
What's up y'all! I just finished my first YouTube video, and I want y'all to do a couple things for me. 1. Vote on the poll which thumbnail you think is best. Option 1 is the left picture, Option 2 is the middle picture, and Option 3 is the right picture. 2. Comment below & guess the title of the video based on the thumbnail. This is good practice because if you can't get a sense of what the video is about based on the thumbnail alone, the thumbnail likely needs to change.

@Norman Zizoff Number 1 for sure!! - I really like the background behind you, as it highlights a high end video editor setup. - Your outfit look professional and clean, as your smiling and have a friendly look. - I like the graphs of red and green, representing success and failure. - I like he arrow pointing from Capcut to Premier which shows $0 to $5k. However, most creators use Capcut like myself to make shorts for Tiktok, Instagram or Youtube. For example, Snarp (my client) his shorts editor racks up tons of views across all platforms by using capcut. I would suggest changing capcut to $100-500 as people do make money from capcut but compared to premier pro its a massive difference and you simply cannot compare a basic software to a industry standard professional video editing software. Overall, I think its a really nice thumbnail which matches the title “The Easy 5 Step Plan to $5K/Month as a Video Editor”. I wish you all the best of the video and hopefully we can have more members!

@Norman Zizoff Hey! Yeah Snarp normally uses a bit of copyright songs for montages and intros. We add it for under 10 seconds and it doesn't get flagged as copyright. I noticed tho when I sent him my timeline on premier, he cut the montage. I dont know why, it was nice and he could have changed the song. But its whatever the client wants at the end of the day.

Since I have 3 clients now, normally 2 videos a week. It can sometimes be a challenge when having assignments due. In class I spend some time like actually doing work but then I just lose interest and watch youtube lol. I should use my time wisely, because when I'm home Im mostly editing

@Norman Zizoff This sounds good! I think a white board would benefit me the most as I can have my day planned and hope to achieve all my goals.
