Signing up for Mercury Account
Hello, hope you're all doing well. I'm in the process of registering my Mecury account. I'm at the part with the ownership. It asking me for my personal details and address. I do have access to a US address if I need it or should I put in my home address from Ireland? I want to make sure I don't get denied for setting up an account. Thanks

@Sean McElroy I dont recommend you to use personal accounts for business purpose. One reason is that the bank might not allow this. But even they allow normally you dont want others knowing your private address or personal account details. In case of a legal dispute they can go for the details and contact your bank. If you use a personal bank account (I know others doing it since a SMLLC has passing through taxation so it does not matter who receives the money) make sure that you have more than one personal account in case your account get frozen because of a legal dispute. You can have another business with a bank account and create a contract between your LLC and that business for permitting the business receiving payments on behalf of the LLC. In that case you dont need a bank accout for your LLC. And you are right the IRS just wants to know how much you have taken in or out from the LLC. It means when your LLC receives money on another entity/persons account it still receives the money on its name but forward it in the same moment to someone else.

Single Member LLC US Bank Account - Non US Resident
Hey guys, so I've been studying this for a couple of days now on how to open a business account in US for non US resident. I've seen that if I can get a personal bank account in the US, I could easily use it to open a business account. So thinking about this I found the Charles Schwab International account Have any of you used this account or something similar to open a business account in the US? Additionaly, I saw that using something like anytimemailbox.com could work as well, and it's also cheap *If anyone has gone through these processes recently and wants to engage in this topic it would be awesome so we can see other perspectives as well

do you have an ITIN? if so you can open real us bank accounts otherwise they are some alternatives without the need of ITIN. you need ITIN for a credit card.
Building Credit Score in USA
I discovered that the US credit score is an attractive way to get business funding. I know some service providers helping foreigners (non-US residents) to build credit scores in the US, but I would like to know who you can recommend and why. Also, should you travel to the USA to open bank accounts in person, or can you trust remote service providers to open accounts remotely? Is it safe?

@Paola Moreno Can you recommend someone specific? Can James help or forward to a recommended person?

@Scott Letourneau whats about credit cards with zero % interest rates for the first 12-18 months and credit card stacking? It sounds like you can fund up to 250k with the right credit score and delay the payment with credit card stacking (moving the debt balance from the previous card to a newer card to get a new 12 months period). I agree in general with the "real" approach but unforthunately its hard to do bigger stuff without leveraged capital.
Obtaining ITIN remotely?
What is the most accessible and economical way to obtain an ITIN as a foreigner and non-US resident? James has a video course about it, but I hesitate to send something directly to the IRS. I know their responses do not exist, and the waiting time of 3 months in a successful scenario is already too much. I am afraid that I will wait another 3 months if there is a mistake, or even worse, no reply at all even after 3 months and I have to repeat the process again. Do you know a certified IRS agent who can verify online without physical presence?

@Paola Moreno hanks for the offer but I see your next time slot is in one week. Could we speak earlier? the matter is urgent. I need to ITIN to start building my credit score and I want to start asap because waiting for the IRS response already takes more than 2 months.

Open your US bank account here
If you have your LLC you now need to open bank accounts (the first two are free so open both!). I'm going to share some links below to what I think are the best options. They are my affiliate links and I'll address them separately so you can understand the benefits. When applying, be honest but always emphasize more on how you will help your US clients. Relay financial - I have a great relationship with relayfi and they have told me that applicants that use this link have a greater likelihood of being approved. I use relay for my business and it has been great.the account is free to open. https://app.relayfi.com/register?referralcode=jimbaker Mercury bank - this is another great option. Again focus on how you are serving clients in the US. This link should give you bonuses once you are approved. The account is free to open. https://mercury.com/partner/jamesbakercpa Wise - this is not a bank but is a useful way to get paid and pay other people sign up with my link to get free transfers up to $500.. the account is free to open but there are small fees to open different currency accounts https://wise.com/invite/ahpc/jamesb2812 Stripe - if you are selling anything I would first try stripe.com for payment processing. I don't have a special link for them. Let me know if there are other accounts you may be interested in, how this goes for you and which you prefer!

Can you give additional resources about the topic how to build a credit score and USA and obtain US credit cards that can be used for payment processing but also can be used as a tool to build the US credit score so you can obtain funding as a side benefit.
