Motorbikes and Scooters Thread
I have watched extensive YouTube videos from Tigit Motorbikes and John states that Honda is best overall. Semi automatic is cheap to buy and cheap to fix and repair. The Honda Blade Is the best overall bike to tour all of Vietnam. It is the cheapest (about $1,000 USD) and most reliable bike. “you can wheelie it, jump it, and there’s no terrain the Blade can’t do.” John states that the Blade is, “Bulletproof and indestructible. It can carry two people and luggage across any mountain road in Vietnam. It is easy to fix, cheap to fix and fast to fix. Any shop in Vietnam can fix a Blade.” John toured the entire northwest area of Vietnam on a Honda Blade. It is a 110 cc, semi automatic, 8.5 hp, can cruise 60 mph, top speed 110 KPH (68 mph). Note: Mind the speed limits in Vietnam or you will pay the price.

@Travis Carrasquillo I know the XR 150 is pretty popular. I’ll have to look at the PG 1.

@Luke Lewis good advice! John from Tigit motorcycles, said that the Honda Lead has “massive storage under the seat”. Does it also have a flat floorboard?
Any replacements for Revolut and Wise card?
I see the Revolut is in the process of switching banks, and I already signed up for Wise in the US so now I can't use it in Vietnam. Any replacements for these two cards? I already have Charles Schwab. I need a second card and account to be safe. Update: I called Wise customer support and they said there should be no issues with using Wise card in Vietnam, even if it's issued in the USA. little confused as to what's going on for others atp. But I have one other back up so I appreciate y'all's help!

@Travis Carrasquillo if you do incur any ATM fees or international transaction fees with your Charles Schwab debit card, they will credit your account at the end of the month.

@Sj B. I signed up for a Chime bank account last night, and it only took about five minutes for the approval. Pretty straightforward and easy Peezy. Important to have redundant ways of moving your money if you are far from your home base bank.

That looks fantastic Travis! That’s going to help a lot of people with your step by step guide. You put a lot of time into this and you can tell that it’s very complete. With your boots on the ground and your experience, you will save us time and money. Thanks much!

Because I only have Da Nang as my one destination, I plan to travel with a backpack and one roller that fits into the overhead bin. If I were going to travel around Southeast Asia, I would only use a backpack. My backpack is a 42 L. so it holds a lot of my stuff.

You can also get compartment organizers, and vacuum packing bags. You vacuum/Hoover most of the air out to give you more room for more clothing items.
Travel card
Hi I'm just wondering what is the better travel card to use .I'm using the wise travel card to exchange and withdraw money but I've heard mixed reviews on it what are other people using?

I am 70 years old and retired. I was in the US Navy in my younger days and travelled all around Southeast Asia. Love the culture. Love the people.
