I've got a friend in Sapa in the mountains of Northern Vietnam giving me updates. He says everything is clean up, all the roads are cleared from the landslides. Weather is beautiful and Sunny. People are also back on the Ha Giang Loop and Cao bang without any issue. Cat Ba Island and Halong Bay are still a little beat up/dirty but the weather is good and all tours are running. Here in Da Nang, clear blue skies, sunny and hot.

Hi guys, we're heading for Da nang next week, and we'll stay for 5 weeks. How is the beach in october normally? Still nice and safe for kids (11 and 13 yo) to swim? Or is the ocean to rough?

Tết Holiday will be celebrated across Vietnam from January 27 - February 3, 2025. If possible avoid traveling to Vietnam during these dates. During this time flights are very expensive, if not fully booked, so traveling within the country becomes very difficult. Most businesses shut down for a large part of the Tet holiday and even major cities become very quiet. In case your trip is already planned for this time period: -Try to limit travel within the country to just one or two destinations. -Book all transportation well in advance. -When booking accommodation, call ahead and confirm they will have you during Tet dates. -Try to stay somewhere that has on-site dining because almost all local restaurants close.
