@Serena Davila First I like the Russ reference "do it myself" for me my plan is to stay independent as long as I can tell I have some leverage then im gonna sign a 50/50 deal with a label.

Producers, do you mainly use headphones or speak when producing/mixing?

when I produce I rather use speakers and headphones when im mixing cuz I feel in mixing u need to have control over the things that u hear.

i agree with you and like u said when u get it to sound good on mixing headphones and good on studio monitors translates to good on everything else.

sometimes u know exactly what the track need but sometimes u just follow the feelings to get your point across and see the full picture, then u can go back later and change the sound to fit the vibe.

I would say if you just starting, singles are the way to go and after u found yourself and establish a fanbase then u can move on to tapes.
