How to Research and Make a YouTube Short Podcast Episode About Local History
I love using YouTube to share super short podcast/video episodes about local history. It is a great way to get people interested in my longer videos and podcast episodes that live on that platform. Shorts are incredibly powerful for bringing in new viewers and listeners who may not have heard of your work but are interested in your specific niche. Here is how I do the research using available free or almost free resources to build my scripts: https://youtu.be/8Qip5acXJQk

Implementing the Podcast Prof’s advice
Just uploaded a short to YouTube using the feedback from today’s call. Lots of analytics to explore in YouTube Studio. I learned that Thursday afternoons is when my audience is on YT the most. I’ll post in the comments the analytics tomorrow.

Podcasting Imposter Syndrome
Imposter syndrome is REAL! Who am I to think I am knowledgable enough about local history, investigative journalism, and the paranormal? These are real questions that rattle through my brain at 2am. And then I remember, I am a skilled researcher. I am good at asking questions of people and ferreting out the truth, and I love a good ghost story and am always game to hang out in a cemetery or haunted old house. Imposter Syndrome is normal. It is part of the human condition to question yourself. It is normal and if you didn't do this you might be an expert or just have a bigger ego then the rest of us! Am I perfect at what I do? No. But I am always eager to learn more about my craft, fix inaccuracies after the fact if needed, and I can always sing the Ghost Busters movie theme song to myself. If Bill Murray can do it, so can I! What imposter syndrome tales does your subconscious torture you with late at night?
