The goal of this group is to help you navigate the complex and rapidly evolving world of data science and artificial intelligence. This is your hub to stay up-to-date on the latest trends, learn specialized skills to turn raw data into valuable insights, connect with a community of like-minded individuals, and ultimately, become a Data Alchemist. Together, let's decode the language of data and shape a future where knowledge and community illuminate our way. Preview of Open AI's Latest LLM Model Released
https://openai.com/index/introducing-openai-o1-preview/ We've developed a new series of AI models designed to spend more time thinking before they respond. They can reason through complex tasks and solve harder problems than previous models in science, coding, and math.Today, we are releasing the first of this series in ChatGPT and our API. This is a preview and we expect regular updates and improvements. Alongside this release, we’re also including evaluations for the next update, currently in development.

It's crazy how they're specifically improving their models in science, math and coding areas... ChatGPT 3.5 with some good prompting was already capable of doing quite hard math college problems (not talking about the usual olympiad logic ones, I'm talking about specific concepts of Topology, ODEs...) Now I really want to test what this new model is capable of.
Optimal point for enrolling in Data Camp or similar
Hey! 👋 I'm new here. I already started progressing in the Codex Module and so far everything has gone smoothly. I'm loving the experience ♥️. _____(Context)______ While researching I found that Data Camp offers 3 months free in collaboration with Github Edcuation. Right now I'm at the 3rd year (out of 5) of a double major in math and physics. On my spare time I've been learning about data stuff since I discovered I really like this. I'm now experienced with statistics, linear algebra, multivariable calculus and more (🤓)... But not so much with the technical side of data. (I know a little bit of R, MATLAB and Python, but I wouldn't say I'm advanced in any of those, intermediate at most: knowing how to do hypothesis testing and other stats stuff, implementing simple linear algorithms and so) ______(Question)______ So what I'm asking is: Given that I can only study this on my free time, when should I try Data Camp courses or other things? Right now I'm focused on Data Alchemy, and I'll try to level up quick and get to the nitty gritty of the learning materials.

Hey you lateral-movers: what field are you coming from?
Question for those of you who already have experience working in companies or academics in a different field: - what field are you coming from? - how much experience do you have in it? - do you have plans to use your previous experience in your data adventure, or on the contrary, you are learning data science to move forward in your main area of expertise?

@Aldair Pichon what kind of astrophysics models? I'm studying physics and haven't had an astrophysics class yet so that sounds really interesting to me.
