Shooting class
Good morning everyone! I wanted to share something with you guys. As I always say about the Netherlands, basketball is here voluntarily. One benefit is everyone who helps, loves the sport because no one can do it for the money over here. One huge problem is, most trainers/coaches are working 40 hours beside basketball so they just give training and go home. I put a lot off my free time in basketball but not everyone is doing that and I can understand that, but that's also a pain in the ass for the development for players. We train 2 times a week and one game almost every weekend. If we ask for a third training, most parents aren't really supportive about it. So what did we do, we have a moment in our training scheme for a shooting class. We made a scheme where the players can work on there own shot by themselves. Before I hear you think, no we don't let them just work by themselves without help from us. We help them individually by what we see what is wrong with there shot because everyone got a different problem. We made a scheme with different spots that they can work on. We made one moment in the week for our boys youth and one moment for our girls youth, we made it optional so it is an extra thing we can offer for the children who wants to grow an become better. The day before yesterday, was the first session and I saw some problems and fixed them on the spot. In 90 minutes I changed these girls and gave them a boost, you should saw there faces!!! They were eager and happy to improve. I loved it!!! So, we still can offer the third training in the week for the ones who wants and really help them forward, so I hope the class will grow every week so we can build something beautiful out off it!🔥

Youth coaches - what are the most common problems?
On the encouragement of @Chad Bryan - I’ve started developing a “Shooting For Complete Beginners” course. I know what I’ve seen, but what are the biggest pain points for our very beginner shooters that you’ve worked with? Give as many details as you need!

What I see here in the Netherlands is that they don't understanding what to do, that's the problem off the level off trainers over here. Most is voluntary. Besides that is that they want to be the next Steph Curry... so when I enter the gym everyone is shooting behind the 3 without a good form and technique. So, I also say to my team that they need to understand that there form and technique is important before you search the distant. What I also see is that everyone thinks he is already a shooter a the first second when the start with basketball but it takes practice and time. If I work with a girl who got a different coach for a couple off years and I want to edit there shot because there shot is shit. I really have to convince them why they should listen to me, because the coach before me teached it the wrong way. In a child brain every coach is the (wo)man a hero. So now Twan walks in and is saying it differently... who to believe, eventually they listen to me because I can bring in the proof.
Intro
Hi everyone! I'm a skill and development coach in Toronto. I've been coaching since before the grey hairs started to appear. I work with all levels of athletes. I've coached from elementary school kids to pros. I'm on a life-long journey of learning basketball. BriAnna's methodology and techniques intrigue me so here I am, wanting to learn even more.

No Meeting Tonight - My Abuelito’s Funeral
Hey team, Some of you know this already, but for those of you who I haven’t had the chance to connect with, my abuelito’s funeral was this morning. He was a decorated corporal during both WWII and the Korean War. A hero. They had a trumpet player and a 21-gun salute. It was beautiful. I thought I was going to be more up for it, but today has been hard. I hope that it is okay to move to next Tuesday night and we’ll go back to back weeks for the next two Tuesdays. 💛 Appreciate yall so much. BriAnna

It's okay to take some time for yourself. It's important to also listen to your own mind and body! My condolences to you 🙏🙌🫡
