First Time Dad Coming Soon
Hey dads! I'm expecting my first baby in December, and I’d love to hear your best advice. What are some things you wish you knew going into it, or any tips that really helped you along the way? Looking forward to learning from your experiences – thanks in advance!

@Ian Plocher just remember that no one else is you. You are their dad and there’s a reason for that. Give your yourself grace everyday. Give your wife even more. Routine will be your best friend. It’s your first defense against the unknown and the chaos that inevitably comes. It’s ok to mess up, like a lot and all the time. Your kid will not be ruined for life. You can always step back reevaluate and do better. Let them be babies, let them be toddlers, let them be kids, and maybe try to do the same with them sometimes. Love your wife relentlessly and make sure they see you do so. Say you’re sorry-I do this a lot-like say you’re sorry immediately after you get too upset or yell or whatever the case. When your kid sees you can mess up and recognize it and want to be better they will also do the same. You got this man! I wish I could go back and tell myself it’s going to all be ok. It’s really hard and that’s ok just keep trying and just keep loving them and by the way you’re doing great man.

Let’s goooooo
What's your split?
Do you have one? lol or do you just get moving? Everyone I know excersizes differently. I'm on a Push Pull Legs (/skip) split 2x weekly and I love it. I actually don't think it's "Optimal" for muscle growth (Full Body 3x weekly probably is) but.. I think the up side of getting my day started extremely well, outweigh some of the delayed results. I'm still seeing proggressive overload and gains all over the place. But there is the off day where I can only give 10%. And on those days, as long as I give 100% of that 10... the benefits for my mental health and overall productivity are the same (if not better) I'm always down to hit a lift! I'm at EoS on University in Orem every morning at 7am (ish). I can get one person in for free anytime. JOIN ME

Get a man bag
One thing I did a little bit ago that I wish I did earlier was get a Dad pack together. Basically a diaper bag for us. There’s some cool brands out there but aside from that just a small pack that has the essentials. And it stays in my truck at all times so that when I’m in a hurry or in a bind it’s already there. Stuff I have in mine -2 diapers -pack of wipes -pack of antibacterial wipes -extra pair of undies and socks for my two older kids -phone charger cable w/battery block (I promise you’ll want this) -Tylenol/ibprophin (mostly for me😁) -$100 cash -a couple granola bars for kids/protein bar for me Sounds like a lot it’s not, mine fits in a side pack meant for concealed carry. Let me know if you would add anything

Routine
Get up early every day. Like early. It’s the only time you truly have to yourself. I just started doing this again and it’s a game changer. Believe me when you start work and you know that you’ve already been up for 3-4 hrs getting it done and crushing your day it feels amazing. Not to mention when your day ends and you need to show up for your family your mind will be clear and able to do so. No more stressing when am I gonna have time to workout or read or study or work on my side hustle or whatever it is. Make your early mornings sacred. Utilize that time every day. My promise to myself is 4:30am everyday for a year. (Hopefully it never stops)
