My No-BS Approach to Nutrition 💪
What to eat and when to eat it 🤷‍♂️
It seems like the two areas most of you struggle with are meal structure and sleep. Let’s break it down and make things simpler. I have a few nutrition principles I share with my Alpha Clan clients, and I’m going to give you the main two here. Principle 1: Follow a Meal Timing Structure Pick specific meal times and stick to them—every day. Most guys do well on four meals a day: - 7 AM – Meal 1 - 10:30 AM – Meal 2 - 2:30 PM – Meal 3 - 6 or 7 PM – Dinner When you eat at set times, your body’s circadian rhythm adjusts, so you’ll start feeling hungry at those times and fully satisfied after eating. These days, most people eat at random times, which leaves them constantly snacking and never truly satisfied. Principle 2: The Two-Token Rule At the start of each week, give yourself two tokens. Each token can be used for eating out, a meal at a friend’s, having a drink, or buying a treat. Once those tokens are used, that’s it. Every other meal should be made by your own hands. Two simple principles, but they can make a massive difference. Here are three common nutrition traps men fall into, and why you should avoid them. 1. The "All Protein, No Veg" Diet 🥩 We get it, you love steak, I LOVE STEAK—and that’s fine! But if your plate is loaded with nothing but meat and zero greens, you’re missing the point. Your body needs balance, not just gains. Veggies are packed with vitamins, fiber, and nutrients that help fuel your workouts, aid digestion, and keep your body running smoothly. Don’t turn yourself into a walking steak. Toss some greens on your plate! 2. The "Energy Drinks are Breakfast" Plan ☕️ If your idea of breakfast is chugging an energy drink (COFFEE) on your way out the door, we’ve got a problem. Your body needs real food in the morning to fuel your day—not just a caffeine boost. Skipping breakfast and relying on energy drinks will leave you crashing before noon, and your performance will suffer. Do yourself a favor and reach for something with actual nutrients. Oats, eggs, anything—just not liquid caffeine. 3. The "I Worked Out, I Can Eat Whatever I Want" Rule 🍕 This is a classic. You hit the gym, smashed your workout, and now you feel like you’ve earned a pizza... or maybe a whole pizza. Hate to break it to you, but your 45-minute sweat session doesn’t cancel out a family-sized pizza. Sure, you need to refuel, but it’s about making smart choices. Don’t undo all your hard work with a junk food binge. The Bottom Line: There are no shortcuts when it comes to nutrition. Real results require balance, discipline, and making the right choices day after day.
