Controlling Your Tempo🕹️
One of the most underrated skills for a receiver is controlling your tempo during a route. Why? Because it throws off the defender’s timing and keeps them guessing… On top of the fade you’re selling as well. By varying your speed—sometimes slowing down, other times accelerating—you can create separation more easily. Think of it like a change-up in baseball; it’s the unpredictability that makes it effective. You can do this within your route, your release, or even your blocking. It’s important to remember that football is a game of inches and split seconds. Your ability to control tempo can be the difference between a catch and a pass breakup. Stay unpredictable, and keep defenders on their toes⚡️ @Kai McCarty @Amado Carrillo @Matthew Trigo @Chris Scott

Winning The First Battle🎖️
You need to win the first battle. And that battle is winning off the line. Once you get free you can control the route from there. But if you get caught then the entire route & play is ruined (most of the time). This is because in a game scenario the QB only has so much time. The material in the release section of the course will show you what release to do for any situation… But you need to really focus in on this part. Don’t just assume you’re going to get free by replicating the moves. Be intentional with your release, think of it as the first “battle” to win the “war”. This is where being a student of the game really comes into play. This is to ensure your success💎 @Kai McCarty @Amado Carrillo @Matthew Trigo @Jaleel Ali @Chris Scott

The art of deception as a WR (mini lesson)
Some of the best Receivers have one thing in common. After studying tons of the best receivers, one overlooked trait always stood out to me. It’s not speed or physicality. But deception. The psychology within the route is what gets you open. Think of it, why was Jerry Rice able to easily get open on almost every snap? He was slow for a wide receiver & was not the biggest by any means… So what was it? It’s because he understood deception. He then combined it with a rock solid foundation. Solid Foundation + a master of deception = A lethal WR. I’ll be posting more mini lessons I developed throughout my career in here to help you guys fast track your progress. If you guys have any gems also post them in here, let’s make this place a gold mine🏅 @Amado Carrillo @Kai McCarty @Jaleel Ali
