Record Breaker
I’m only about a week late in posting but I have been busy from dawn to dusk after the political campaign that I’m working on won its election by over 72%. This win absolutly shattered the former state record for a statewide primary election victory. Now on to November 5th.

Member Spotlight Recap
Last night's member spotlight was a great success. Thank you to everyone who was able to join, and thank you to Noah for putting the event together. It was nice getting to know more members of our community. I hope what I have learned from my young professional career will help others better understand their own professional journeys. Looking forward to hearing about other people's journeys in more Member Spotlight events to come.

Corporate America to College-Athletics
The title is self-explanatory, but like all posts here there is a story. When I was in college I wasn't sure what I wanted to do post-graduation. The best thing to do for me then was to fall forward and see where I find myself. I ended up getting an internship at a Fortune 500 company between my Junior and Senior years. I was able to convert that internship into a full-time job upon graduation. I originally was not 100% sold on the job. I was debating whether I wanted to continue my education and earn a Master's degree or make money and gain experience in the workforce. I figured at the time it was better to take the job and gain experience rather than twiddle my thumbs wondering what career I still wanted while in graduate school. I could have learned more about the corporate world while in my Master's program, but I thought there was no better way to learn about what career I wanted than by starting one. After I graduated I started my job a month later. I had a job as an Insurance Underwriter. Most of the days consisted of office work with travel about once every 3-5 weeks. After 8-10 months on the job, I knew it was not for me. There were reasons to stay, but there were plenty more convincing reasons to leave, which I will discuss at another time. So, I had to think of what my next job would be. Backtracking to my high school and college days, I played competitive golf at a high level and always had a passion for the game. While I was looking for a new job I felt like I had an easy choice, my job was going to be in the field I love. So, leading up to the end of my time as an Insurance Underwriter I was looking for careers in golf. After speaking with people in the golf industry it became clear to me that there was no better place to start than in a college golf program. Today, I am in my fourth week as a Graduate Assistant earning my Master's degree while coaching at a Division 1 program. So far, I can confidently say I made the right career move. For me, it all came down to figuring out what my passion was. I hope you know, or at least can find, what your passion is.
