7 Day Trial and Annual Subscriptions

I just had a member sign up to the Annual Subscription with a 7-Day Trial

However it's showing them as on the monthly $99/month

is this just a UI issue or does this mean they are actually on the monthly?

They are pretty sure they had selected the annual sub

If i cancel their subscription can they go through the process again with the trial?
