Council inspections wanted without any notice to Landlords

The Environmental Health Officer body are now lobbying Labour to introduce inspections without giving Landlords 24 hours notice in the Renters Rights Bill!

They claim that this allows Landlords to intimidate a Tenant who has complained and for them to have a conversation with the Tenant without the Landlord being present!!

If someone is checking your property do you not want to have the opportunity to see what they are finding as rumour has it Tenants can be economical with information and the truth!!

There is no reason why they can still not have that conversation after the inspection surely?

I still believe that there are far more complaints about property standards in the Social sector than the PRS and this will be seen by many as just another big brother action and a reason for some to think about exiting the market!

If the Councils got on with inspecting all their Licensed properties there would not be many others left unchecked!!

Is this a concern for our family or would you be happy with this?
