I recently put together a video on how to run only 3x a week for your half or full marathon.
I've talked to thousands and have personally coached hundreds of runners over the years and one of the things I hear constantly is that running 5x a week is causing them to get injured.
And it makes sense because that much volume, especially if you are running your first half or full marathon, is oftentimes MORE than what your body can handle.
You are essentially going from 0 to 100...
So what ends up happening is you start with a little bit of discomfort/pain in, let's say the knee, and because your plan has you run 5x a week you continue to push through it.
Unfortunately your injury usually gets worse and worse. Not better.
And that's why runners will end up in physical therapy, not able to run for months, and have to defer their race until next year.
