Mental Training Increased Strength By 24% (THIS IS NUTS!!!)
This study is insane and really shows the power of mental training!
THE STUDY....
30 male college athletes were tested on hip flexor strength.
Then, I took them through a 2-week program to strengthen their hip flexors.
Group 1 did nothing at all.
Group 2 did a physical training routine to strengthen their hip flexors.
Group 3 did a mental training routine and only imagined strength training their hip flexors.
(group 3 did not do any physical training to strengthen their hip flexors)
THE RESULTS?????
Group 1: did nothing = saw no significant strength gains
Group 2: did physical training = gains of 28% strength in hip flexors
Group 3: mentally imagined themselves training = gains of 24% in the hip flexors
That's 85.7% of the gains without doing any physical work to strengthen the hip flexors!
If you don't think the mind has a profound impact on the body, it's time to reconsider.
MENTAL TRAINING WORKS!
Think of the impact this can have on you if you are injured - you can still strengthen the body.
Think of what you might be able to do if you can't get to the gym, you can still find ways to change the body just by using the mind.
We don't have all of the answers, but this stuff is pretty damn cool!
