Last year, in 2023, Pioneer launched its latest innovation: the Global Problem-Solving Institute. This unique program virtually connects exceptional students in grades 9-12 from around the world, forming teams of up to six to tackle complex local and global challenges while earning college credit. As GPSI scholars, students will address critical issues such as chronic diseases, climate change, AI disruption, and access to clean water. Through the Institute, they’ll engage with systems thinking, design thinking, and interdisciplinary approaches, allowing them to explore each issue from multiple perspectives. Due to the undergraduate-level rigor, students who successfully complete the course will earn 2 college credit hours from UNC-Chapel Hill, along with a written evaluation of their work. The 12-week course includes a total of 24 sessions. Cost: $2,100 Application deadline: December 3. You must contact Pioneer Academics Korea at (02) 2039-7212 to request an application.
