When you’re under attack mentally and lies seem overwhelming, it’s essential to stand firm on the truth of God’s Word. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:14, “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth.” This imagery shows us that truth is the foundation we need to hold everything together. God’s truth is our anchor in the storm, and it remains unchanged, no matter what we face.
When the enemy tries to plant lies in your mind, such as fear, doubt, or discouragement, remember that you have the power to reject them by relying on God’s truth. 2 Corinthians 10:5 encourages us to “cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” This means that whenever false or negative thoughts arise, we are called to capture those thoughts and measure them against the truth of Christ.
The enemy thrives on deception, but God’s Word is like a sword (Ephesians 6:17) that cuts through those lies. When you are attacked mentally, declare the promises of Scripture, such as Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Let His Word guide you through confusion and strengthen you to stand firm. By continually immersing yourself in God’s truth and relying on His Spirit, you will stand strong, even when the enemy’s lies try to tear you down.
